Q v Catton (update)

Filed under: General — Paul Catton @ 6:15 pm

Dear All,

Monday: 2.51 pm Prosecution open with statement, Defendant also makes opening statement, Prosecution then present its case (adjourned 4.30pm)
Tuesday: 10.21am Prosecution continues until 10.50am, Defence then opens and concludes 3.20pm
Wednesday: 10.30am Court asks Defendant if there is any objection to a S.347 Discharge (Acquittal) being Ordered, Defendant accepts, Jury instructed and released from duty, Defendant free to go.

To say this has been an ordeal would be vastly understated, and like getting an Oscar, there are a multitude to thank, they have provided the invaluable support and assistance, and without this help, well who knows?
I sincerely thank you all.
A seperate note of thanks goes to the Auckland District Court headed by the presiding Judge M D Robinson who handled the case impeccably.
Also the Crown Prosecutor who completely fulfilled her role as an “Officer of the Court” who is supposed to present a Crown case impartially.
Ms Latimer excelled in this role.

NZ Family Courts could well take note and exercise their obligations to Justice with similar diligence.

Again, Thankyou and kindest regards

Paul

  1. Hey, Paul

    WELL DONE

It is a good job that everyone in NZ doesn’t lie down like a “pastie”
