I agree with you Wendy. NZ is broken and it is getting worse.
As for “generations of undisciplined children with no respect for anyone”; I would say (1) some communities are already like this
(2) this would suit Labour just fine.

It is the perfect way to breed more Labour voters. Far from being their worst nightmare, I see it as just more of what we have now.

In addition I don’t see any sign of a future government even acknowledging the real problems. It is not PC to acknowledge the causes of these problems – therefore it will not reverse any time soon.

I also beleive that this bill will eventually become the goverments worse nightmare. Early in the South African struggle for blacks to get freedom the government decided to make laws against blacks being educated. This proved to be their down fall as those uneducated blacks become violent against the government and all h*ll broke loss. Can you imagine a few generations of undisciplined children with no respect for anyone, parents, police and goverment. We are having issues with our youth now, imagine what its going to be like with a no smacking bill. What are they going to do build more jails? not just for parents but for the undisciplined children too? And these children become adults and generate more disrespectful children. We are seriously considering leaving NZ, its becoming a nightmare of a place to live!

OK point taken Bevan, however 80% of this nation is against the bill, so why then should a vile minority have there way again? This bill will make criminals of many good dads much to the pleasure of the sadist feminazi’s. Even a parent who removes a child to time out will become a criminal under this bill. Politicians are elected to represent the status quo? Four of the five countries with the lowest child-abuse rates allow smacking, however the utopian freak Badford fails to identify poverty, stress, family breakdown and drug and alcohol abuse as the main causes of child abuse. Infact, the delinquent Greens brought in party pills so all our kids can get faceless at school, smoke dope, smack less, seems to be the message. This country is bloody mess and it’s time for people outside the influence of the insidious political correctness to say it. I make no apology about my attack on Badford, as I have no doubts that the timely demise of the cyfswatch website reeks of an adroit feminazi supporter’s tactic. I suppose my comments about her on this site will have it shut down? Be very worried New Zealand!!She is very desperate to blacken her opponents with the devious tactics employed by the successful sleazy methods of her feminazi mates . Bevan , when will New Zealand again arise to the stature of those that gave their lives for the freedom of this country ? I was an observer in parliament last week at question time to Ministers . Be very worried New Zealand, as this cess-pit country is run by deluded fools competely devoid of realism.
