Gay pride bans mum and dad in classroom

Filed under: Boys / Youth / Education, General — julie @ 5:25 am

Daily Telegraph (Australia) April 17, 2008
Teachers are being urged to stop using terms such as husband and wife when addressing students or families under a major anti-homophobia push in schools. The terms boyfriend, girlfriend and spouse are also on the banned list - to be replaced by the generic “partner” - in changes sought by the gay lobby aimed at reducing discrimination in classrooms.

Schools are coming under pressure to provide lessons for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students and stack their libraries with books and videos covering their issues. Among the demands are the outlawing of homophobic comments by teachers or students in the playground and a requirement for teachers to receive “diversity training”. Education Director-General Michael Coutts-Trotter emerged as a leader of the school anti-homophobia campaign, opening a Government-backed conference on sexual diversity - That’s So Gay.

The Federation of Parents and Citizens’ Associations also weighed into the debate calling for “appropriate literacy materials promoting diversity in families”. The radical shake-up means that families with two mums or two dads are set to be accepted as a normal part of school communities.

  1. I agree with removing discriminatory references to homosexuals.

I agree with not assuming that children will be living with their parents or that their parents are heterosexual. However, every child has a mother and father and to deny this is the worst social engineering propaganda one could imagine.

I agree with taking care not to damage the self-esteem of children being raised in households other than biological family units. However, to ban the use of the terms Mum and Dad etc is to deny the existence of what remains the most common, natural and developmentally sound situation for children. It is dangerous social engineering and it is sanitization of the current child-abusive fashion of destroying biological family units. It is also another accelerator towards the end of our civilisation.

The promotion of “diversity in families” will be feminist social engineering designed to disparage and wreck biological family units and to kick fathers out of children’s lives. Where in these policies is any concern for inclusion towards children who live with their mum and dad? Nowhere. The social engineers don’t care about kids from normal families. Their mission is to destroy such families as much as they can.

Claims that using “Mum” and “Dad” amounts to homophobia are clearly ridiculous.

I agree with providing positive representation of homosexuals in schools. However, the amount of such representation relative to representations of heterosexuals should not exceed the statistical frequency of homosexuality in society.
