I will relucantly volunteer to appear on a TV docummentary Julie.

I am not what I term as High Income Earner…$90,000 maybe.

I am seperated…have one lovable son aged 10 who wants to spend more time with me, and likewise. I work shiftwork, so I currently average 13 days a month with my son, but now have the time to make a 50/50 situation.

By private arrangement I currently pay my ex $100 a month. Not Much.

I have now informed her I will pay all my sons costs….school fees, uniforms, clothing etc…so that she has only to pay for his food while he is in her care.

She refused. She has a new car and has asked to me to take annual leave while she goes on a holiday in July.

I have said many times before, Child Support is for the care of Children, but the greedy adults take advantage of the outdated ACT to neglect the children and use the system for finanicial self gain.

Is it any wonder we have so much crime when there is no policing system for the rights of children?

And yes, i have sympathy for the men who have little choice but to leave this country when faced with high taxation and unfair child support laws.

I just believe in fairness.

To Allan,

I find for myself that this broader approach takes my energy from what I see as my core work. Many see such narrow thinking as unhelpful but I see it as a way to stay sane and concentrate on what I know about.

I don’t think narrow thinking is unhelpful. To me you are better at doing one thing and doing it well. I have a lot of respect for those who are out there making changes happen. For those who action.

You are doing a lot. You must have a lot of interesting information.

I need to find out how many single fathers we have in NZ for a documentary.But I have no idea how to find something like that out.

Part of the problem is that the “Mens Movement”, or the Mens Rights Acrtivists as a sub-set, is a term for a loose grouping of organisations with different aims. Personally I’m interested in Fathers issues and parenting matters only. Others are into Health stuff, and wider equity issues.

The Mens movement is alive, well and seeing progress. All “Mens Sites” accept ladies. They suffer like us under some circumstances. Chief of these is This page, “Union of Fathers”, and reasonably secure, pauls-news@yahoogroups.com (You have to join and confirm an ISP email address. Only the Moderators see this. Anonimity is available for posts. Ladies welcome. Focususes on seperation, and Family court issues. Finally, cyfstalk.org As it’s name suggests the focus is mainly on CYF issues. It is totally secure and hosted off shore. You will have to join.

The Family court is bending. Numbers protesting keeppresure on.
