Virtual Justice

Filed under: Domestic Violence,Gender Politics,General,Law & Courts,Men's Health — Downunder @ 10:50 am Thu 20th July 2017

Video links have been used for some time now, within the Justice System, to eliminate minor appearances, for a person in custody.

In September the Police arrest process in Central Auckland will be transferred to a new processing unit near Mt Eden Prison. Along with this will come virtual court appearances, where overnight arrests will be dealt with through video links.

This is a conceptual change to our Justice System, firstly in terms of bringing people before the court, to see the judge in other words, but secondly, isolating individuals from the outside word, from contact with other people apart from the processing staff.

It is a conceptual change in the traditional role of the Police to now deliver an offender to the processing unit rather than the court.

We have a century plus of court reporting, (some highly amusing records within the pages of history) but now there is a question of how much the media will see or could be stopped from seeing.

The majority of the arrested are of course men. These men will be in a new camp. A vague isolation somewhere between the Police and the Court, inches from the nearest prison.

Cost effective, convenient, carbon efficient, or another step in dehumasing the male of the species?

  1. How can you worry about this, when women are starving to death? [troll alert!]

    Trolling?
Recently began commenting on stuff including one were I got the most likes.
I’ve even been very careful to stick to the rules.
Unfortunately as Stuff is a feminist left wing rag I think they have blocked my comments.
    Damn.
There running a solo parenting promotion campaign presently.
Unfortunately a males perspective is not welcome.

  5. They’ll tolerate you are far as it suits.

The comment editing has deteriorated significantly, any worthwhile comment won’t get published.

I also prefer to link information sources to other alternatives, rather than support the growth of Stuff.

  6. I apologise for my frustration, desperation and lack of patience….[All men are desperate – yuk!]
When DV Act was passed, some commentators pointed out that there was real potential for breaches of justice. (Unfortunately, the financial fraudster MP who pointed that out, the Right Honourable Sir Douglas Graham (not jailed) missed the point that the warned breaches would also impact severely on the children affected, by damaging their access to their parents.)
The Right Hunny ignored his own warnings and proceeded to drive the legislation through Parliament.
Although “safeguards” were included in the DV Act, they have been routinely ignored by the clowns and thieves who gorge and feed in the familycaught$.
    But wait, there is more………
The thieves and clowns used the leverage they could obtain on parents, by exceeding the legislated time limits, to increase their ill gotten gains.
They also pointed out to Government their own breaches of time limits, to attempt to blackmail the Government to increase its spending on familycaught$. And they largely succeeded in making more money available for themselves and their partners.
When the ongoing breaches of time limits and breaches of justice were drawn to the attention of the polis, they really did not want to hear. They didn’t want to act and they didn’t want to have to judge what was going on in familycaught$. They did not want to accept any responsibility for their own actions, or even for their own refusal to act.
So I agree with your complaint, when it was first made, I guess twenty years ago.
It isn’t just the obvious corruption in familycaught$. The silence by the entire group of legal worker’s leaves all of them with no workable integrity.
I certainly still agree with your complaint.
Talking about history is getting boring, so I will do it a bit more…………

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out

    Then they came for me
And there was no one left

Eventually the situation deteriorates, until talking has no hope and desperate actions obviously must be taken.
This is beyond what psychedelic drugs can fix.

  11. I can’t disagree with criticism of the StuFF news links.

    hushttp://www.stuff.co.nz/world/americas/94956746

In this “STORY”, a woman shoots her husband to death, then supposedly tried to shoot herself and the whole matter is treated as a joke, no sympathy for the victim of murder at all.

  14. I thought at first you meant I was a parrot, just saying the same old things… (I do, unfortunately and I hate it.)
What a beautiful story. Good example for rules of evidence! Though not much fun for the husband or his family.
Seems to remind me about the National Party man and his wife, who fought over The Dog. The familycaught$ took their money at every opportunity.
If they allowed the murderer wife to speak in caught, I can’t see that the parrot was any less credible?
I thought it could be admitted under “automatic recording device”?
If the caught$ aren’t funny, what use are they at the best of times?

    Comment by MurrayBacon — Fri 21st July 2017 @ 9:30 am

  15. Does ‘the propensity of animals’ still exist in the rules of evidence? @Murray

Might be able to use that one against those Feminist politicians.
