Peter Hodgson’s Misandry
Peter Hodgson, Labour Party Defence Spokesman yesterday showed how well he was trained in misandry under Helen Clark’s tutorship. He was interviewed on National Radio Morning Report about the SAS doing a training day for a group of businessmen in order to raise money for a trust fund helping soldiers’ families. Here is an excerpt from his comments (words in italics were emphasized by him in a sarcastic tone):
…there is no benefit on taking grown up boys on a day’s tour through rifle shooting and target shooting and being locked in a darkened room whilst people are silently removed from that room because they might be suspected terrorists and all this sort of (pause) boys own day. I mean that is simply grown up boys with a little more money than sense…
Whether or not one agrees with Mr Hodgson’s criticisms of the Defence Force, I took exception to his implication that men’s activities deserve scorn simply because they are of interest to males. Would he ridicule women’s activities simply because females enjoy them? For example, if a businesswomen’s organization had contributed to a royal charity in return for a morning being waited on by the Governor General’s staff and being chauffer driven in the royal Rolls Royce, would Mr Hodgson have scornfully referred to them as grown up girls playing at being princesses? Not unless he wanted complaints from women’s groups, the Human Rights Commission and the Ministry of Women’s Affairs for his sexist denigration of women and devaluing of their charitable contribution. Well Mr Hodgson, it’s no more acceptable when done to men.
I recall a key experience that helped to start my own recovery from feminist brainwashing when in a discussion some female colleagues replied to my contribution with “But that’s a very male viewpoint”, with a scornful tone on the word “male” similar to Hodgson’s tone. It’s hard to believe now but we men had been politically indoctrinated through university such that we would simply accept as valid an implication that maleness was less worthy. But on this occasion I challenged the manipulative put down with something like “Yes, so does that mean it’s less valid?” and the women went quiet. I was backstabbed later for my apostasy, but that’s another story.
Shame on you Mr Hodgson for resorting to feminist male-denigration and sacrificing men’s status in order to score political points
This reminds me of times when I too got similar comments.
I recall being often told mostly by women in NZ that my views on certain matters were simply a ‘male point of view’ as though that deemed my views to be somehow invalid.
Each time it was one of those death by a million small cuts moments that led to me eventually deciding NZ is too much of a feminist basket-case for me to go on living there.

Hans Allow me to disagree with you Hans. Defending men Yes. Enacting, copying feminist stereotypes for men No.
Defending Men yes, copying Women’s Refuge to have men’s refuge No. My opinion.
Labour rided to power on my back for 9 years. After I was served with a farcical protection order and the no-smacking bill I definitely turned my back on them. When in power we have never seen Hodgson disagree with Helen.

Let there be only one despicable gender lobby: modern time feminists. Men do not need to parade, imitate, copy, incarnate a kind whose only aspiration is to become wee-men by deceit. Men are reason, logic and a big heart. Let us concentrate and focus on the essential: A fair and just world.

Thanks tren, an interesting perspective thrown in though I’m not confident I understand it fully. Are you saying that you don’t want men to follow the feminist lead of complaining about their gender being insulted, scorned, ridiculed or belittled? Unfortunately, if we don’t complain then we are letting anti-male forces increasingly manipulate society into defining men as undesirables. Or is it more that you object to the argument that “if feminists find something’s not ok to do to women then it also shouldn’t be ok to do to men”? I agree there’s a problem with that argument. Indirectly we are thereby letting feminist ideology define our morals and priorities.

Hans, I support anyone anything that complains, resists against onslaught on own’s dignity, rights, responsibility etc. It is one thing supporting women having access to education, work and positions of responsibility based on merit an it is entirely an other thing seeing feminists drumming for women to be given quotas and making the upper class, the chosen kind, the elected arch etc… I do not want ‘us’ to be like the later.

Does anyone among the dross that calls itself the nz government have the balls to discuss in public forum their ongoing human rights abuses. That includes, for many years in nz, in Kuwait and at what you’re cooking up at present. Why do they find the bare truth of their corruption so uncomfortable?
Would the IRD staff member who called please call back or kindly provide an email address. I know that you were disappointed to miss out on your pathetic power trip however saying “I don’t care” and hanging up doesn’t make what you’ve done go away. I have been waiting many years for an explanation for your barbarism.

…as always the oppresive fruit loops are unwilling to lower themselves by communicating with one of their slaves. Yet they’ll come into my home(such as it is)behind my back, while I’m at work (working long, long hours and just getting further and further into ‘debt’).

Pete you whinging moaner.
We don’t work at 1;14am. Our computers alone work then and generate heaps of letters full of trivia and anoying misinformation to get up your nose.
We ladies andf Gent of the IRd are not able to communicate with plebs like you via E-mail. We do have an infuriating system you can send us messages via and we wil be only too happy ignore what you ask in the same order of receipt as we ignore any other real questions we get.
We don’t explain barberism as cutting hair is not our profession. Blood from a stone is OK but the days fine surgeons like us were mere barbers are long gone. We can extract cash from any wallet no matter how tightly attached to someones ass it is.
Yours insincerely
Ms IRD Officer.
PS, get a life you whinger.

Besides what are you doing wastijng time here. With a debt like yours you should be working harder, longer we need your overtime money so we can send your ex the 30% you wish to pay for the support of your four kids.
Officiously

hehehe….a dead give away that you don’t/couldn’t work for the IRD is your sense of humour.
Paid overtime, unfortunately not…70 to 80 hour weeks and unable to reduce growing ‘debt’. Destitute, living in a trailer park, sleeping on a two seater couch (as I have for a good proportion of the last ten years). Our 18 year old son has the bedroom, he thrown out of his mothers home at the tender age of 17, left to fend for himself in a heartless society. A victim of a corrupt and abusive education system finally allowed to complete a course now that he lives in a caring society. Now with some slim chance of a future life worth living.
For myself, a poverty/slavery trap crafted by a litany of injustices and denial of rights. Just another paragraph in an epic tale of corruption and repression that reaches to the pinnacles of Western society (The now Mayor of Auckland, The former Police Comissioner, The former Prime Minister, The IRD Comissioner, The UNDF,…the CIA(?).
Irony that beggars belief and all irrifutable.
