Significant Support for Independent Watchdog for CYF
A poll has found significant support for an independent watchdog for Child Youth and Family (CYF), and Family First
NZ believes that politicians will know from anecdotal evidence that a watchdog is warranted.
In the poll of 1,000 people undertaken by Curia Market Research this month, respondents were asked “Do you think
the Government should establish an independent Complaints Authority similar to the Independent Police Complaints
Authority to hear complaints about Child Youth and Family (CYF) from families who feel they have been unfairly
treated by Child Youth and Family?”
65% said yes, 20% said no, and the remainder (14%) were either unsure or refused to answer. Interestingly, younger
respondents were most supportive of an independent complaints authority – possibly because they were either young
parents or potential parents. Male and female support was evenly split.
“Family First is being regularly contacted by families who claim to have been unfairly treated by CYF social workers –
yet they have no independent body to appeal to,” says Bob McCoskrie, National Director of Family First NZ. “Their
only option is a costly court process where CYF have an unlimited pool of resources to defend its actions, courtesy of
the taxpayer. This is grossly unfair when families are being ripped apart, often based on the subjective judgment of a
social worker.”
“Social workers should not feel threatened by this poll. An independent watchdog is in the best interests of social
workers as it will provide an independent body to ensure that appropriate policy and procedures have been followed.
This will result in public confidence in their important work and accountability for actions and decisions.”
“There is a Health and Disability Commissioner, a Police Complaints Authority, even a Motor Vehicle Disputes
Tribunal. We desperately need an independent body to hear complaints about the highly sensitive nature of
intervening in families,” says Mr McCoskrie.
“The Advisory Panel adopted by the Ministry of Social Development in 2008 is not well known due to minimal public
awareness, and has the inherent flaw of not being independent.”
Family First is calling on politicians, the majority who will have received anecdotal evidence of claims of unfair
treatment by CYF, to support the urgent establishment of an independent CYF Complaint Authority.
The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.2%

An Independent Watchdog for CYF must have the authority to compel social workers to take a polygraph test as part of any complaint investigation. Social workers will lie to cover up their mistakes and will lie to justify their violence against a parent who they take a disliking to.
CYFS social workers are liars, thieves and the most violent man-hating scum of society in my opinion.

Hi Wayne; in my experience with CYFS, a polygraph test is not necessary. You only need to read their affidavits to know that they are less than honest.
Given that CYFS workers are public servants, I am simply amazed that no one has taken them to court charging them with malfeasance (an act that is criminal or wrongful giving rise or contributing to injury of another person.) The very act of swearing an affidavit, knowing it is untruthful, seems to be a normal modus operandii in CYFS and even worse, it is accepted, unabashed and without question into a court of law!
My wife and I both suffered at the hands of CYFS; therefore I would suggest their lack of empathy, bordering on psychopathy, is not limited to males.
I welcome the idea and support for an independent CYFS complaints authority. However and if ever one is established, the sad reality is that the children and parents of New Zealand will continue to suffer under this unbridled, tyrannical bureaucracy of negative officialdom.

I like the idea of an independent watchdog for cyf.
However if it’s anything like the feminist Human Rights Commission it won’t be a watchdog which is a vanguard for fairness and justice.
It’ll be an attack dog for misandry and just another layer of feminist shit to dig through in order to reach truth.
So best to proceed cautiously I suggest.

Hi Jono, it’s wonderful to see you making posts on this site and on my favorite subject in community service. I look forward to seeing you join well with all of us, and will do whatever it takes (even handle frustration, hurt, etc) to help you find your way. (I am extremely tolerant because I’ve walked the walk) If you come to challenge me, I welcome that also. 🙂
Anyways, I hope you don’t mind I add something from a family you met. 😉
This is a copy of an email in one case for children’s welbeing.
Anyways, Jono, rule one, “Be kind to yourself”.

Julie, think you better let people know there were two Jonos. I know which one I am (grin)
Although it wasnt a challenge as such you did slap me to the ground (figure of speech).
you need the other Jono to answer that one.
You pointed out another reason why a watchdog for CYF is needed. If you get no where, where do you turn. At the moment, there is nothing you can do. I cant comment on the case your referring as I dont really know them, [name deleted] did pick up on a problem though.

Jono, I want you to learn from men here, because they also show you other sites where men rip women to pieces, and say how to play them.
It’s only after this behaviour, you can join me, really., Yes, of course the other John can answer a thing of two but let him get over his 10 years imprisonment, for starters, and let my friends who are the manginas help him.
