And now, the Brenda Leyland Pussy Pass!

Filed under: General — Ministry of Men's Affairs @ 10:00 pm Tue 7th October 2014

Brenda Leyland committed suicide (apparently), a few days after a tv crew ‘outed’ her for making thousands of tweets under a false identity mostly expressing blame and hatred towards Madeline McCann’s parents. For example “I fear, that we are in this 4 long haul, up to all of us to a) Bang home the facts b) make mccann s live in shame for years”.

She has been referred to as a ‘troll’, apparently because she visited McCann supporter groups to express her vitriol. When asked by the tv journalist why she had done it she replied “I’m entitled to”.

Now people are blaming the tv journalist for Leyland’s suicide and calling for his sacking. For example, This female journalist played down Leyland’s nastiness and claimed about trolls “At times, their behaviour may border on loathsome, but a news team with a high-profile journalist at the helm is not the way to bring about justice”.

With all due respects to the dead and sympathy to those affected by Leyland’s suicide, we see here just another pussy pass. It seems a woman can do no wrong (or not really much). When she commits verbal and emotional violence over the internet, it’s ‘free speech’. When she commits suicide it’s a male’s fault.

If the case had involved a male ‘troll’ in similar circumstances, you can be sure the same pro-female journalists currently rushing to Leyland’s defence would instead be celebrating the outing of an abuser and calling him a coward for not facing up to his own actions when caught out.

  1. She also said.

When we think of trolls, the stereotype is of angry, unemployed, disenfranchised young men who exist in a miserable, hermit-like darkness that is void of compassion or loving relationships.

Which is a good indicator that she did a women’s studies paper to become a journalist.
The trolls we encounter on this site, I suspect look a little different than young men.

I think I just stereotyped journalists as people trained to see only the negative side of men. They of course haven’t done the men’s studies paper so they will always struggle to report or view things with any balance.

  2. The whole story is crazy.
She sought as much attention as she could possible get.
When she got some attention and scrutiny of her ideas, she then commits suicide?

Its insane to say that what the male journalist did was the cause of her suicide.
Her personnel issues must have been far deeper than that.

Her little personnel empire was not destroyed by the journalist.
Unless what she believed was exposed as false by the journalist.
Then the actions of the journalist was justified.
    He was doing his job.
