The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
-Edmund Burke.
It’s pretty obvious where all the good men have gone. They’re lying low, watching all the “good women” destroy themselves.
The good women, as Burke observed, are doing nothing.

Actually, that sentence is often attributed to Edmund Burke but does not exist in his speeches, letters or writings. He did make some statements with a broadly similar sentiment to the above quote. John Stewart Mill however, in an 1867 speech, made a statement more similar to the above quote than was anything from Burke: “Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing.”

Good women are doing nothing – did he really say that?
If Burke were here, I think he might say:
“Wise words from the past are worthy of reflection, but best we think on the cause of our present discontents”.

Thanks downunder. I bet that wasn’t funded by the British government like all the crap on NZ prime time ad campaigns demonizing men. I couldn’t believe even the salvation army are in on the act with there new ad campaign. The one with the women saying “my partner used to beat me . then they took my kids off me blah blah. Sorry Sallys but no more money from me.
