Media Release: Kelvin Davis Left Men Hanging
Media Release today:
Kelvin Davis Left Men Hanging.
Kelvin Davis, Labour, left men hanging when he pulled out of hosting the Men’s summit at Parliament in early April, claims one of the organisers, Kerry Bevin, of the Ministry of Men’s Affairs (MOMA).
“This was genuine attempt to engage politicians on male well-being and gender equality.”
Three quarters of suicides are male. Rates are still rising. Male denigration is having terrible consequences, said Mr Bevin.
“Mr Davis had committed to male issues before Christmas. His failure to honour that commitment really did leave men hanging.”
Mr Bevin said Kelvin Davis had attempted to prescribe what men could say in their forums. In his letter withdrawing his hosting offer, Mr Davis said some speakers ALMOST criticise women.
“Not only will criticism of feminism NOT be tolerated, even ALMOST criticism will not be tolerated.”
This is laughable said Mr Bevin.
“Obviously Davis’s ‘White Knight’ stance shows he is running scared of Labour feminists and friends. Misandrist, anti-male, anti-father and anti-family policy and Law embedded during the Clark era, still prevails in the Labour Party.”
“What a strange creature the Labour Party has become since its glory days,” claimed Mr Bevin.
The MOMA spokesman said the Men’s Summit in Wellington was successfully and comfortably conducted at the Master Builders,’ All Accounted For’ Boardroom.
There were some notable speakers and worthwhile networking of Men’s groups planning for the future.
Muriel Newman’s talk on Shared Parenting and the need to revive such progressive social legislation was insightful.
“It was Labour under Clark and Dalziel, now Mayor of Christchurch, who sabotaged fathers and children’s rights by voting down the Shared Parenting Bill,” said Mr Bevin.
The Men’s Summit, in 2018, will be at the Wiseguys Refuge and Rehab. Kingseat, Auckland.
The Ministry of Men’s Affairs (MOMA) is a community group because successive governments have neglected the voice and welfare of New Zealand men and boys.

Seriously guys.
I don’t know in your dreams what you expected to achieve with this, ‘media release’ but someone has to tell you.
It’s an ineffectual load of crap.

Davis was far too busy finding excuses for all his bros being in prison to do anything close to useful.

#1 Can you elaborate at all. Which part of the release is not factual?

Kelvin Davis ‘leaves’ men hanging was news some time back whenever.
Community groups write news letters.
Reality check.

So it’s not crap but old news that offends you?

Good to see the attempt to engage politicians. However, to expect a labour politician to honour their “commitment” to men’s wellbeing was really naïve.
Labour, like all left-wing has been captured by feminist ideology, and their anti-male stance is so obvious and pervasive, that even the most politically ignorant guy has woken up to this fact.
A large number of men are not voting for Clark’s Labour in NZ, Corbyn’s Labour in the UK, Hillary Clinton’s Democrats in the USA.
The Labour movement was formed by men who worked for a living to support their families. They have now woken up to the fact that Labour is run by women who have gained ownership of families, but want men to continue to finance it, while being marginalised and discarded.
Men will not vote for these parties anymore. This is the reason why these parties are spent forces, and are doomed to stay in ineffectual opposition for a long time to come.

Pray tell, which political party is not infiltrated by feminist dogma? The etymology of the word “equality”, when used in conjunction with the noun “gender”, now means female superiority in all political discourse.

@5 Jack … Who wrote this?
It would lose most readers in the first few lines when the subject changes from Kelvin Davis to male suicide.
Media release to bad joke in 4 lines.
It’s not clever or contructive dialogue. It’s more likely to end up in a media studies lecture in a lesson on examples of failed attempts, and what not to do.
I hope this better explains ‘ineffectual load of crap’.
In terms of writing something for the audience on this blog, it’s a garbled mess.
I don’t agree with everything MOMA puts out, but this detracts from the good work they do,
My suggestion, for your own credibility, is to stop doing this, and either learn to communicate with the media or the audience on this blog.
Ineffectual crap, may not have been another person’s turn of phrase, but it will certainly be what they are thinking.

Several people are authorized to represent MoMA and write under its name. There will be variation between individual writing styles.
While suggestions to improve effectiveness, meaning or grammar may be helpful, Downunder’s rude criticism is simply destructive. Infighting and efforts to demoralize others are unhelpful in any movement and this kind of thing has through the years led to many participants discontinuing their involvement in the MENZ Issues forum. Many of Downunder’s contributions here seem to involve rubbishing other people’s contributions or opinions, are written in dismissive, destructive or ridiculing language, and seem to reflect his own need to feel superior, or adequate, rather than anything else. Of course, as may be expected, Downunder’s own writings are often difficult to make sense of and there is no evidence that Downunder’s self-claimed superior insights and writing ability have ever been effective in influencing government, media or anyone else.
Whether this media release may be effectual or ineffectual has yet to be determined. The fact is that hardly any media releases put out by the men’s movement are ever published by mainstream media whereas almost any releases put out by feminist groups no matter how erroneous or ridiculous seem to be eagerly pushed. Improvements to this media release, as for any other, will always be possible but note that Downunder provided no constructive suggestions. The play on words referring both to Kelvin Davis leaving men ‘hanging’ and men’s high suicide rate seemed quite memorable and did provide a consistent theme but Downunder appears to have missed this. The release now exists on Scoop and will be read by various people, and at least it goes on record as a criticism of Kelvin Davis and his misandrist party for turning their backs on NZ men, as an assertion that men will persevere and succeed despite adversity, and as an announcement of next year’s summit.

It doesn’t pay to defend incompetence, it’s more productive to deal with it.
You may not remember the particular media on ‘male survivors of suicide’.
I organized that – it was a part of the campaign against the secrecy around suicide.
I gathered together a group of men who I was aware had attempted suicide.
These men were interviewed at my home, by journalists, and their stories were published in mainstream media.
Mr Bevin will be able to confirm this, as he was one of the people interviewed.
Now. There is a very good reason you don’t suceed with the media wereas myself and others have over the past twenty years, and it is this.
You don’t want to hear what other people have to say.

#10 I am not a member of MoMA but smelt a rat in amongst your harsh criticism of their press release. If you know Mr Bevin, and have the ability to communicate with him directly, why denigrate his efforts publicly? If there is bad blood between you is this an appropriate place to display it? Your comment disturbed me as i found it aggressive and unnecessary.

Dead men don’t talk. They don’t listen either.
No reason for a politician to hang around then, is there.
