The denigration of men: Ridiculed, abused, exploited
I suspect most of the men here already know how poorly they and their mates have been treated in today’s society. Left broken and unable to recover financially and mentally. Barred from some professions, less covered with health issues and totally unprotected in regard sexual allegations the moment the allegation is made. Paying for but being unable to see their own children.
The constant mainstream bellowing of feminism is at odds with statistics compiled in this article.
OK so this clipping is from a UK newspaper. But I see little difference between any western democracy and NZ.
One of the things this news story reported on is the future of boys and just how many will be treated so badly by feminism as they get older in life. Quite a grim outlook for the next generation of men.
There is such a wide range of topics in the news story touching on almost every imbalance that has made men second class citizens.
Seems odd to read it in a main stream newspaper. Story here.

And we wonder why more and more young guys are Mocking their enemies.

I thought it was great that these issues are finally being published in a main stream media. The comments were interesting in that most identified with the issues being raised.

Sometimes the obvious does just need to be said, but how hard is it to get these basic statements in media controlled by the drivelling idiots referred to above.

We are all aware of the family court new look, new model and rebirth. This received much press and I recall that compulsory mediation was to be something new and special. For me this is not new and special as I recall that attendance at counselling prior to any hearing was expected.
My questions are;
what has changed?
Is it better or worse for fathers?

A lot has changed but the efficacy of the changes is still in the wind.
Mediation is about reaching agreement, it seems that at least partial agreement is reached over half the time. Counselling was more of a lottery of who you got and the approach they took. Over all I suspect mediation is better.
The approach to Family Court is also very different. Lawyer for child (l4C) and s133 reports are less common. Once final orders are made you need leave of the Court to make new application to vary a parenting order. It will take time to see how matters work. Even legally aided parties are being asked to contribute up to one third of costs for L4C and s133 reports but few cases I am involved with have progressed to a final conclusion and decisions about these matters being decided. It appears that the threat of costs is now more evenly being threatened against both mother and father, time will tell about what happens in practice. Probably that is a good Official Information Request idea.

There is definitely much more emphasis now on maintaining or resuming contact between father and children. This positive change was happening prior to the recent ‘reforms’ but they seem to have hastened it along. Unfortunately, Courts still believe that ‘every second weekend and a phone call in the other week plus half the school holidays’ is good enough when it comes to fathers, and I have seen no evidence of any recognition of the importance of relatively equal shared care.

Man X Norton says:
This comes back to the complete absence in familycaught$ of any knowledge about the best interests of children and the complete absence of any understanding of child development and needs.
Equality now only means that women are also torn apart for any money or residual borrowing capacity that they might have……

Positive change will only occur when parents cry out enough and act to stop the unadulterated thievery that reign$ in familycaught$.

Always good to hear of other experiences.
I got the feeling that the input of fathers was beginning to be valued more by the court prior to the reforms too, especially by some judges, not by all though.
Some years ago a Family Court Lawyer said, there is a systemic gender bias in the Family Court not relating to Law or Judges but the process and the way it has been hijacked by many legally aided lawyers, self employed experts, the feminist fraternity, court coordinators and those in a position to influence outcomes for children and their relationships with their fathers.
In my recent experience, this has not changed. Many of these lawyers are still there, plying the same old hackneyed horseshit. Some of them know no better.
So what is the real problem here?
The law society looking after their own?
The court and judges not prepared to sort out their own club members?
Judges were lawyers before they were judges, many have interests in law firms still if only at a relationship level.
Lawyers do not critique other lawyers work or report it. We see this as the “club” and public opinion around this impacts their entire profession. (we would think that they have enough common sense to do something about this, especially with 1 lawyer for every 386 adults in NZ as this can only make the public step up their distrust.
I have heard recently of a Family Court Lawyer having their practising certificate suspended for six months – who knows about this?
What did they do?
What was the process?
These comments do not apply to all lawyers, some have the integrity that we expect from their profession.
How about we name the ones with integrity and be careful about naming the others as lacking in integrity but perhaps call them Lawyer’s that mother’s who loath their children’s fathers should go to. These are the ones who circumvent the law, the rules and the process. These are the ones who allow their own personal views and prejudices to cloud their professional responsibilities.
