Snake Oil Advice from ‘Relationship Expert’
This article is typical of the trivialization of marriage and relationships in western countries. This ‘relationship expert’ encourages people to trash their marriages and disregard any commitments they made simply because they are experiencing a bit of lust towards others or a desire for ‘a bit of excitement’. No mention that any research supports his beliefs. His advice is terrible, and if children are involved it’s very irresponsible. One may as well advise parents to put their children up for adoption if they find themselves feeling dissatisfied as parents, or to commit a bunch of crimes if they find themselves wishing they could have free accommodation.
It’s incredible that a major NZ newspaper like the Herald would think it’s ok to publish such socially destructive stuff especially when it’s not based on anything reliable.
And the Herald follows up today with another article designed to encourage women to wreck their marriages. Note the short article badly misrepresents the content of the blog posts reported. Very little in those posts were consistent with the women being ‘desperately unhappy’ or that they felt they ‘had to stay’ with their husbands. Instead, many of the women preferred the economic lifestyle they had with their husbands.
The idea that marriage vows become irrelevant as soon as the feeling of being ‘in love’ in the same lustful way as we were early in relationships, is ridiculous and very socially destructive. The idea that marriages or partners should always keep women happy and satisfied is ridiculous. The idea that lustful feelings for others means our partners are no longer good enough for us is ridiculous. The idea that lustful feelings for others are more important to honour than are our marital vows is misguided.

Is the herald going to prove they are not sexually bias.
Do an article on.

We used to have a noun for such persons like that – I think it used to be “SLUT”. And you would not go near one if for no other reason than the odds of picking up a really noxious infection.
