Cheap simple paternity tests are available from Australia.
Cheap simple DNA tests are available from Australia. Use them.
The NZ Family court desperately wants you to pay child support to the mother, whether you are the father or not. One trick they use is to refuse to accept the results from DNA test results from Australia. However once you are armed with this knowledge then you are in the drivers seat and can force the issue.
I have found one company. There are probably others – shop around.
Here is a quote from one company web site.
“Knowing the truth is always better than living in doubt. It is truly rewarding to help responsible people take corrective action for their mistakes. Unfortunately there are cases where dishonesty makes a bad situation worse. Entrapment in order to gain child support is a serious issue; one that, unfortunately, we see a lot. Sometimes people do wrong things for, what seems at the time, the right reasons. Extended family members may believe that they have the right to supplant a biological parent. While the “rights of individuals” are best left to the courts, DNA testing can help to clear up deceptions. It is unfortunate that we hear so many stories of people “being used” or “taken to the cleaners”. In these tough situations DNA testing can expose lies and clear consciences as well as win child custody and child support cases.”
““I’m married with two children, but am separated from my spouse. I’ve been paying child support for more than five years. Thanks to DNA Bioservices I was able to do a private DNA test on both of my children. I was so devastated when I got the Paternity Analysis Report that I thought I was going to die. The Paternity Analysis Report read that the probability of paternity was 0% for both of my children. I took this case to court and the Paternity Analysis Report served as evidence. It was proven in court that this DNA test Analysis was true. The court dismissed the child support and freed me of all responsibilities. Thanks again DNA Bioservices”
— Stephen Thomas”
I have commented many times that it is a childs right to know his father and that DNA testing should be provided free if requested.
There are those, Feminists included, who place soical fatherhood above the biological connection.
The only reason I can see for doing this is to collect money for child tax from a defrauded man.

DNA tests should be manditory for every single birth, no matter what the relationship status of the mother. Imagine that? You’d never get paternity fraud anymore!

Interesting is that the NZ website for DNA Bio Services talks about Court Related Paternity Tests but make no reference to NZ courts.
At A$599 this service isn’t exactly cheap. One would want to be certain their results/affidavits are actually admissible as evidence in the NZ FC.
I don’t get what you’re trying to say Dave. Armed with this knowledge I’m probably not going to fork out the A$599 as it seems too risky.

Yes agreed. The medical system spends thousands of dollars on maternity care. Strange that there is an issue over DNA testing at birth. You would think it would be just plain common sense.
This is the only time in history where paternity fraud should not exist, and there is really no acceptable excuse for why it should.
10-15% of birth certificates with the wrong father on them throughout the western world is TOTALLY unacceptable, how are we supposed to get anything else right in society if all of us take on the fact that there is a 10-15% chance that the father named on our birth certificate is not actually our real father.
Have a think about that. You and every person you meet, man, woman or child, has a 10-15% chance that the man they called or still call father is not actually related to them. How many adults can actually say with total confidence that their “father” is ACTUALLY their father?
Only those who have had a DNA test.
How many fathers can say that their “children” are actually related to them?
Only those who have had a DNA test.
Think about the implications of this. EVERY person. Male and female has a 10-15% chance statistically of not ever knowing who their father really is, because their mother lied about paternity and there was no test done.
This is hurting the whole of society at one of the most basic levels imaginable, and it is a blatant violation of human rights. The rights of men, women and children are all being violated on this issue, there is absolutely no one who doesn’t suffer in some way from a lack of paternity testing. The only way to not be affected is to ignore the facts.
The facts are that DNA tests are the ONLY conclusive proof of paternity. Other evidence is simply circumstantial and when children and fathers are permanently removed from each other’s lives through this type of fraud then it clearly needs to be dealt with. And don’t forget that us guys are facing an average of a $69,000 bill ($70 a week for 19 years) in child support payments when a woman claims she has had our child, so with these statistics we better be able to have PROOF that we are not paying for someone else’s kid.
It’s clear that women cannot be trusted. The 10-15% statistic of birth certificates with the wrong father on is a pretty clear indication of that. Along with the 40% statistic of women who in a British study admitted they would lie about the use of contraception to get pregnant regardless of their partners wishes.
The fact that the IRD doesn’t require ANY PROOF OF PATERNITY and that our governments don’t deal with this major issue is a clear indication that our governments are all about revenue collection from men using any means necessary, and that child support payments are nothing but a revenue collecting scam.

I’ll try to explain.
$600 is cheap. Many pay more than this a month in child tax.
In NZ the family court will accept the most rediculous things as evidence. A statement from the mother’s girl friend that is full of nothing but hear say and allegations will be accepted. This will be good enough to significantly reduce the time the child sees his/her father.
However the NZ family court ill not accept a DNA test from a respected Australian DNA lab as proof to make a ruling on. The only NZ lab to provide this service will not do it unless the mother gives her consent or they get a court order.
Hence the family court forces the father to apply and argue a case that the child should be allowed to have a paternity test even though the mother does not give consent. The court will stone wall this as far as possible and scratch around for excuses to not give it but really there just aren’t any so if the father does not give up the court will eventually and extremely reluctantly allow it.
Now what you can do is get a DNA kit from one of these Australian labs. Get the paternity test done. This will tell you to within 99.98% accuracy if the child is yours. Knowledge is power.
Let’s say you get this result. The child is not yours.
You know it.
The mother knows it.
You have tests to prove it.
The court will not accept aht as evidence.
So tell me are you going to spend 19 years paying child support for a child you know damn well is not yours or are you going to fight the court to recognise you are not the child’s father?
The court will not accept the test result you did yourself. However it can not stop you filing an affidavit stating that (a) you have perfromed a test and it proves within 99.98% you are not the father.
(b) you have told the child you are not the father
(c) you will not stop until the court acknowledges you are not the father and are not responsible for the child.
Faced with this, the court has no really option but to conceed. All they can and will do is drag it out to increase your costs.
To mitigate this I recommend you bring a civil suit of fraud and false declariation against the mother. You see once you gave the mother the result then the mother knew you were not the father and keep on charing you child support and kept on claiming to the IRd you were the father when she knew you weren’t.
in Australis they force the mother to refund the child support – which is the lest that should happen. Don’t hold your breath in NZ but you can still bring a civil suit to increase the risk for the mother. Thus forcing her to admit you are not the father.

The ones who will disagree with this are the ones who have something to hide!

And a woman who knows a child isn’t related to the man she put as the father is actually going to allow a DNA test that will show her up as a lier?
Isn’t it interesting that a man in western society can’t even look for signs of his own DNA in a child that is supposedly his, without permission from the mother, the very person most likely to know what the likely outcome of the test will be, and the person with the most vested interest in preventing or allowing the test for her own reasons.
Does this mean that us men don’t actually own our own DNA, and consequently our own bodies? Or is it simply that keeping a potentially dishonest woman happy is more important to our government than establishing the truth of a child’s paternity.
It’s not like we are looking for signs of the mother’s DNA. So why do we need permission from her at all? In fact with the level of dishonesty as high as it is, how come a woman can put a father on a birth certificate without proof that he is actually the father? After all, it is a legal document. Considering how important it is to get paternity accurate and how much is at stake she should not be able to do this.
DNA tests to establish paternity should be standard at birth, the retail cost of a test can be done for as little as $389. Which would mean the cost if done in a lab at the hospitals would be negligible, certainly compared with the thousands of dollars spent on each mother for maternity care for each child she has.
The only women who wouldn’t want a DNA test to establish paternity are the ones who know that they have lied about who the father is, in other words the very ones who should not be listened to because they are committing paternity fraud. These are the women who know they would be shown up as cheating, conniving sluts guilty of fraud, which to my knowledge is a criminal offence and in other areas of society carries penalties of fines and/or imprisonment.
The fact that our government would defend these types of women, continue to allow their behaviour, and not have any relevant penalties associated with a crime as severe as paternity fraud is appauling.
Unlike other types of fraud, paternity fraud has intergenerational consequences for whole families and each count will affect a large number of people in the first generation alone, especially when it is taken into account that each count affects 2 families. When this is taken further and that child has offspring themselves the potential for the number of people affected explodes in numbers. This type of fraud separates children from parents, chops whole branches of familiy trees and transplants them where they don’t belong. It makes a man responsible financially for children that are not his, while eliminating a father from association with his own child. It makes a mockery of human rights issues and the legal system. It makes a birth certificate a worthless document for establishing identity and destroys our own confidence in who we are. And these are only SOME of the consequences of paternity fraud. The full consequences of paternity fraud are so far reaching it is staggering. In fact it isn’t difficult to see that they are probably more far reaching than ANY other type of fraud. As a consequence of how serious the affects are it is logical that paternity fraud should be prevented at ALL costs and that women who commit it should face SEVERE penalties.
DNA testing at birth is not optional in the current environment, it has become essential. And the ability of men to get a DNA test done on a child that has been claimed as theirs should be readily available. The fact that our governments do not have this test done at birth, and then make it difficult for men to get official paternity testing done is a clear indication of their priorities and their total disregard for human rights and the importance of fatherhood.

I differ for “Every Single birth” though eventually Nanny state will move to that. I do Believe either parent has a right to request the test. Government fund the tests. If the man is in fact the father, He pays! If not The female pays. Either way the child (Ren) pay by the uncertainty created!

I suspect what is being said is the other party and the judge, though not accepting the tests will be placed in an awkward situation. Refer to the Jaden Headley case where this came up!

I seem to remember what has happened on at least one occasion the child was made a ward of the court, the sample taken. The Mother was given the option of providing a sample or allowing the courts to draw their own conclusion!

Interestingly enough if you are a father in the UK and the mother seeks child tax you are entitled to have a Paternity Test.
It works in the UK why not here?

hey guys,
I did a home dna test on my 9 month old daughter without the mothers permission after the mother had refused to do one since before the child was born. The test came back and i am not the father. Isnt it rediculous that i cant even tell her nor the court of this because i was not allowed.

Hey Neville,
EVERY man in a heterosexual relationship in NZ is OUTLAWED against being able to get a DNA test to confirm paternity.
That’s not 1 in 4, not 1 in 3, or even 1 in 2.
IT’S EVERY MAN’S right being violated there.
You were saying something about women’s experience of domestic violence?
Something about patriarchy as in all women living under the shadow of men’s power?
Are you sure ‘your’ kids are actually yours?

I am trying to prove paternity through DNA testing. Mother and child living in NZ and I am in NSW Australia. Does anyone have suggestions on how to go about it? I am currently paying $302 per week on maintenance, about a third of my weekly wage. That’s huge considering Sydney is a very expensive city to live in. Anyway, I’m not complaining about the payment but just want proof that I am the biological father. There are several websites advertising their services but most of them look dodgy. So if you have used any of these DNA labs would appreciate your feedback. Thanks
