Pilot scheme should be more successful
There are hopes a pilot scheme for resolving child custody issues will be more successful than the current system.
Early next year families on Auckland’s North Shore will be given the option of accepting mediation not led by a judge.
Courts Minister Rick Barker says currently families referred to mediation can wait weeks or even months to be appointed a Family Court judge.
He says this way, properly trained mediators can speed up the process and help families find their own solutions.
The Court system endeavours to create “Custodial” and “liable” parents to make the DPB and Child Support system work, by usiing devices such as ‘protection orders’. Fathers with the help of McKenzie friends have upset the system by showing that this is both wrong in law and not in the best interests of the children. This pilot scheme now puts all arrangements into closed arbitration, in the hope it will be “more successful than the current system” in creating custodial /liable parents. The location of the trial on the North Shore is probably where the Court system is most under threat , in the home of the pesky “Menscentre”

John’s comments are accurate. Also who will appoint ‘mediators’ and by what criteria? Will we end up with a system whereby feminist cronyism means closet misandrists need only apply to become mediators so that the longstanding anti father bias can previal?
