IRD Child Support Cock-up May Affect Thousands of Parents.

Parents for Children have been advised that Child Support Payments made between 12 and 19 of December 2006 were not processed till the 15 January 2007. Numerous parents have been charged late payment penalties and IRD have failed to contact affected parents.

?

Given that the due date for Child Support Payments is the 20th of the month Parents for Children estimate that this administrative cock-up may have impacted thousands of paying parents. Numerous parents have contacted Parents for Children after receiving late payment demands from IRD

?

“Its amazing that IRD can treat parents in this manner, no private business would get away with treating people like this but IRD continue to act like a law unto themselves. Everyone knows that there are huge problems with the Child Support Act and the administration by IRD, but Politicians continue to ignore the pleas of parents for real reform in favour of the status quo.” : Responded Mark Shipman, of Parents for Children, when asked to comment on yet another IRD Child Support cock-up.”

?

“Competent administrators would have promptly advised affected parents but IRD, with its captive Child Support paying parents and its culture of indifference, is treating parents in its usual manner. Nothing on the IRD website and silence in the media, no attempt to relieve the stress placed on parents by IRD incompetence and failure to meet statutory requirements. Its disgusting that IRD Senior Managers can get away with this and suffer no consequences and show no accountability. It’s just another example of the many ways IRD creates the alleged billion dollar debt and the myth of delinquent parents.”; Commented Mark when asked what IRD should be doing about the cock-up.

?

“Parents from throughout New Zealand are meeting in Wellington next weekend for the first National Child Support Reform Conference. (See www.sharedparenting.org.nz) They have had enough of the systemic failures, incompetence of IRD Officials and successive Revenue Ministers who have lost focus on the best outcomes for Kiwi Kids and become obsessed with collecting money. Its is obvious that Officials and Politicians will need to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century and the conference will be the driving force for the direct action required to do so.” Concluded Mark.

  2. Yet another SNAFU created by the Department of IR to intimidate Parents and abuse the right of EVERY Child to be raised by a Mum AND a Dad.

All the best to all of you who actively oppose repression and fascist tyranny.

  3. Well, if you think that’s bad, here is a real laugh that happened to me today!!! A friend of mine whilst doing what only he alone knows what in my toilet, decided, because my phone was ringing incessantly and that it should be answered, to answer an alleged?? phone call on one of the private prepay phones that I have. At just after 9am, a person calling herself ‘Jen’,(she would not disclose her full name, address, case no., public official identification, etc) except that she was from the IRD, child support agency? Uuuuughhhh… On a public holiday Monday, she wants to speak to me whilst I am in bed with my girlfriend. Now, had I not known better, this might possibly be serious!!!!

As I have never heard of this person, and decided to listen in to the comedy that followed between this person and my friend for almost an hour, I could only conclude at the end of it that promises my friend? made of writing to various ministers, the prime ministers in Australia and New Zealand and the Secretary General of the United Nations, had allayed or delayed the immediate confiscation of the pitiful assets that I still possess. Roof over head, enough money in the bank to pay the inevitable taxes that I will no doubt owe very soon so that I can pay double or triple time to government employees working on Public Holidays to harass parents estranged from their beloved children. Marvellous!!I am so proud to live in such a wonderful country where government paper pushers are so concerned about my children. So dedicated to the welfare of my child resident in another country that the cost of triple time to the taxpayer is of no concern. Let alone the fact that this dedicated government paper tiger has given up part of her public holiday to pursue me. It just makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside…….

I have repeated dozens if not hundreds of times to these cretins that I do not do phone calls with government clerks. What, after all, is the point?

Unfortunately, or comically, in a moment of insanity, I gave the IRD a phone no. on which they could contact me to resolve any issues they think they might have in their own minds. Huge mistake. My advice. Never, ever, disclose your phone no.. Demand anything and everything in writing. Needless to say, I have switched this phone no. off for the duration…

Not that this improves anything really. Last letter I got from the IRD Child Support agency, it stated, and I quote ” Dear Brian”. Who the F**k is Brian???? Is this starting to reach Pythonesque dimensions, I wonder? I am not the Messiah, I am a very naughty boy!!!! Good for a laugh on a Monday morning. Who said I don’t like Mondays???? Sorry Sir Bob!!!

The Buddha said, “It is only a problem, if you think it is”.

    What do you think???

Best Regards for 2007 to you all.

The essence of the individual is freedom. The essence of the state is co-ercion.

Just my view, experiences and opinion. Are we still allowed to express that?

  4. Jim’s comment comes at a particularly important time.

Given the time and resource, before June 10th when I bring before parliament that Margaret Wilson broke the law introducing the Care of Children Bill 2003, I would spend part of one of the prior months protesting against you any blokes who read this who just read. Sometimes I suppose you write. Sometimes, maybe you might join a protest but reasonably, the protests are pretty difficult and it is easy to be seen.

You bet it is easy to be seen. It is easier to be a child who is disaffected by and in a loss of relationship with their father. It is easier to be a child not protected by anyone to an association with their father. But us blokes just watch. And we feel sorry for ourselves.

I too Jim have made offers of support for the conference. I am willing to distribute leaflets. I am willing to visit politicians. I am willing to partake to a degree that will help unite us sad bunch of suckers. And what a sad bunch we are. Get off your bums guys. If you cannot go down with Jim, pay for one of huis seats to get him down here. At least he has the balls to commit his life to the protection of others.
