The Dominion of contempt.
The Editor
The Dominion Post.
Your Editorial Dad’s Army does itself no favours, detracts from your editorial credibility and our country’s image.
It is a gross error of judgement from someone in your position to confuse two separate and such important issues.
Your statement: Family court detractors are entitled to their views. They will be right sometimes that the legal process has not delivered them and their children a just result.
What you have implied is that the process was legal, and that the protestors are merely family court detractors airing a contrary point of view. What you have avoided saying is that these protestors say there are illegal processes in this court, and those processes and the perpetrators are the foundation of illegal decisions.
The world is not always a just place and sometimes we do accept degrees of injustice, and get on with our lives. There is a point at which the behaviour of professionals and persons in official places becomes intolerable and unacceptable especially when outside of this court the same behaviour would constitute a criminal offence.
Posted on the menz website under my name are details of a family court case in which I was a McKenzie Friend. I have named the children involved. You will notice that there is a request from the barrister who represented these children to remove the article. It has not been removed.
Mr Boshier has little choice other than to use the media to vindicate such decisions from his court, as he has no legal remedies.
I suggest you familiarise yourself with the concept of contempt.
It is justice itself that is flouted by contempt of court. The contempt of court jurisdiction exists in the public interest not the courts.
What you have done is assist this court and this government to degrade our justice system, and flout the rule of law. If you would stop for one minute to give some credence to what I have just said, you must also have the capacity to understand the long term implications of what is happening here.
If you want to do this country a favour you could start by raising the level of the integrity, of your journalism, above that of the court you are defending.

I recently for the first time watched the movie “The Patriot” There is a scene in the movie where one of the “Patriots” sons is shot and another is lead off to be hung, both wrongfully. What the father of these two young men did immediately after that made my heart glad. We Fathers (or Mothers) also, it seems have a war against injustice to fight! Perhaps I thought the movie should have been called “The Patriarch”.

Principal Family Court Judge Mr Boshier has been reported as a missing person to the police, Fathers Coalition members claim they do not know of his whereabouts and stipulate they are a non-violent organisation. The police currently do not have any leads to Mr Boshiers whereabouts, but are very concerned as they have received a ransom note to which they will not state the contents, in fear of creating further risk to the safety of Mr Boshier.
Mr Boshier was last heard in media circles criticising individuals whom he thought had a vendetta against the family court and a lack of respect for the legitimacy of the court. We will keep you posted on further developments in this story.
