Hooray for Judy Turner, the only MP in touch with reality when commenting on family issues. Now if she will only ditch Dunne, the Minister for Pomposity, United Future can have my vote.

Thanx UF for saying it how it is. I think what you are trying to obtain with families is worthwhile and achievable. The families commission should not be tainted with bias. Families are far too important to be used for personal, goverment or any other group’s gain.

It’s fantastic to see such opinions being voiced in the political arena – and furthermore being reported on.
I have noted shifting attitudes – becoming more aware of distortions involving gender politics.
I predict the trend will continue – but that there will be a backlash by partisan interests.
Frankly, I think the balanced view on such matters as domestic violence will be the most effective – as surely as a feeling of powerlessness encourages anger.
Certainly I recall a very rage upon realising that after I had been assaulted nothing would be done toward redress – despite audio/video evidence.

A Ministry of Men Affairs would help balance the situation so a clear objective could be achieved regarding the scurrilous position of bias dv reporting .How come real men can’t get a say in this country ? Oh thats right….. as labour MP John Tamihere said – “Where else in the world do Amazons rule?”

The Familes Commission is actually promoting child abuse with it’s anti-father message.
Removing the children’s natural father increases the likelyhood of abuse and death by about 70 times, at the hands of mother, or mother’s new partner
