Parenting Pack for New Fathers
As reported in a Press article on Monday: New daddies get a helping hand, a special edition of the Father & Child magazine will be given to new fathers in Christchurch, Wellington and Dunedin [and Auckland – JohnP] hospitals as part of a birth pack for parents.
Christchurch father Donald Pettit told the Press:
“This magazine would make dads feel included. It’s important to feel this is an important time for fathers, as so much of the focus seems to be the other members of the family.”
This morning on the TV1 Breakfast show, Father and Child Trust co-ordinator Harald Breiding-Buss did a great job of promoting the magazine, and getting out a positive message about fathering.

Any fathers in Auckland who are keen to be involved with setting up a branch of the trust here are invited to get in touch with Brendon Smith.
Christchurch, Dunedin, & wellington do not constituit New Zealand. Should this not be distributed to ALL fathers?
Personally I have not seen it, therefore cannot comment in detail. However anything that promotes fathers must be a good thing.

I’m sure the Trust would love every new father in NZ to get a copy, but it can only be distributed in areas where there is funding available. Gatekeepers in Wellington have apparently decided it is not the sort of message they want to promote in their area.
For a free version, just take a trip to Christchurch or Auckland and impregnate a suitable women. Of course if you get it wrong in the suitability department it will be anything but free!
A safer bet might be to join the Father and Child Trust for $20 and tell them you want one.

Ironic that the video is titled;
“Bringing out the best in dads” = Impossible for any
father sentenced to a life as a forced respondent client
in the De Family Court !!!
