No; it only happens during superbowl and rugby world cups ….
according to the statistics they use #1 – it takes a while to answer all the calls – they dont have enough phones available – more funding required apparently.
The remarkable Hans Laven has pretty much put this myth to bed with his successful action to force the police into admitting in writing this argument is a load of baloney and there have not been spikes in domestic violence following a loss by the All Blacks. I for one didn’t even know they were playing and know many men who are as equally uninterested in rugby as I am.
Gerry for GerryMen Father’s Action
gerry..i prefer to watch the warriors play and if they lose i certainly dont get the urge to bash someone..its only a game after all
#3 Gerry. Do you think the Police cc’d a copy of the letter to Women’s Refuge ? haha !
As soon as we hear this superbowl/world cup myth being spouted we must send this to every news agency we can. Not that any will report it of course!
