SEEING MY SON FOR THE FIRST TIME AGAIN

It has been too long since I have seen my son.
He went missing in action, taken down one of those black holes you guys talk about here. It wasn’t that is was okay for him to stop, it was necessary.

We have sayings like cruel to be kind and for greater good, it happens in the animal kingdom on an ongoing basis, but us humans think we are above this, we have to curb how we think how we speak, how we feel?! and we must adhere to the sentence of the likes of the courts when trying to save remnants of a shredded family.

Forced into a corner, he did have a choice, life or life sentence, that is how bad the choice became, choosing life when the alternative gave him driplets of the shredded remnants of his family along with the farce of it all…
said here the other day, in the words of a one crazy Billy.. reality, for most nowadays, is a dream long discarded.

  1. It is a choice many men must make, not only in NZ, but through out the Western World.

Then they called deadbeat dads for walking away, although the media of recent has learned to be a little less judgy about this.

  3. Justice Minister Amy Adams says the changes stem from a review of the Domestic Violence Act.

“We’re focused on better ways to keep victims safe and changing perpetrator behaviour to stop abuse and re-abuse.

“This is about redesigning the way the entire system prevents and responds to family violence.”

Denney says his staff see men who say they want to do the LWV course but when they’re told of the cost they “turn around and walk out”.

“When you’re earning $15 an hour it can be tough [to pay for].

“There should be a facility for these men to be able to do that and for non-governmental organisations to fund them.

“It’s putting the ambulance at the top of the cliff rather than at the bottom.”

Adams says the Government wants men to be able to self-refer to get the help they need.

It’s currently difficult for them to access services or have their risks and needs assessed without having to go to court, she says.

The ministerial group on family and sexual violence is looking at all the services the Government provides to perpetrators.

“Our reform package … is the first big step in setting up a whole new system to deal with family violence.

“We need to develop a system that connects people with the services tailored for their particular circumstances and we need to change behaviour much sooner.

“Building that new system will take some time but it’s important to get it right.”

    PROPOSED REFORMS

The Government’s proposed changes to family violence laws include:

    Getting help to people in need without them having to go to court;
    Ensuring all family violence is clearly identified and risk information is properly shared;
    Putting the safety of victims at the heart of bail decisions;
    Creating new offences of strangulation, coercion to marry, and assault on a family member;
    Improving access to protection orders and providing for the rights of children under an order;
Making offending while on a protection order an aggravating factor in sentencing.
    Stuff

  4. @3: Amy Adams is not the Justice Minister and this quote must be from an old article. The only interest it holds is to remind us that some of the women of both the Labia and National Parties are keen to distort the reality of domestic violence in such a way as to make sure men are the only ones blamed.

  6. Andrew Little is the current Minister of Justice and he made his support for anti male policy quite clear at the 2013 election.

This is what you posted @Mama

    Stuff

Now read this again with your son in mind.

Justice Minister … review of the Domestic Violence Act.

keep victims safe … changing perpetrator behaviour to stop abuse and re-abuse

[Perpetrator behaviour … nice word includes imagery of traitors]

redesigning the way the entire system prevents and responds to family violence.

    Denney says his staff

    [ Corroborated by a male ]

men who say they want to do the LWV course but when they’re told of the cost they “turn around and walk out”.

“When you’re earning $15 an hour it can be tough [to pay for].

“There should be a facility for these men to be able to do that and for non-governmental organisations to fund them.

“It’s putting the ambulance at the top of the cliff rather than at the bottom.”

[Regardless of how well intentioned Mr Denny is, he is linked into what the Government wants.]

    the Government wants men
    to be able to self-refer
to get the help they need (this does not mean men getting help)
to access services (this does not mean a service that will help them)
or have their risks and needs assessed
without having to go to court

Ministerial group on family and sexual violence
is looking at all the services the Government provides to perpetrators (men)

[Suddenly we have progressed from Domestic Violence reform to assessing males for their violent and sexual risk]

That’s the big system. Did you read that. But in the mean time …

    “Our reform package …
    is the first big step
in setting up a whole new system
to deal with family violence (men)

    develop a system
    that connects people
    with the services tailored
    to change behaviour much sooner.

“Building that new system will take some time but it’s important to get it right.”

[Now we drop back from reform package to proposals … ]

It is easy to read into a cleverly written release what you want to see.

    Now, that picture has changed?

It’s not much good Having the ambulance at the top Amy,
Better to stop pushing them off.

  8. Thanks Downunder.

There is always two threads in my mind when I read anything official.

The conclusion has been met without investigation.

Everything that follows is one long declaration of war.

The system is building another war machinery against men.

    Now it’s

“catch men and neutralize them before they offend.”

    Next it will be

    “eradicate them before they re-offend!”

Yes, it’s an old worn out saying we’re familiar with and notice how the writer translates ‘The Minister’s’ voice into that, giving it different meaning.

But I disagree with the pushing them off the cliff in relation to this article.

This is more along the lines of own the belief you need to climb into the ambulance.

Reminds me somewhat of the Ballard of Lucy Jordan.

  15. With respect to everyones opinion which
Is obvious everyone speaks from some emotion,
My emotion would have to be anger right now.

How on earth any government worker, or
    Non government worker involved with
Children think that the resolution is always
To take the child away is beyond me
To even teach a child that. It costs
    More money separating than providing
    Resources to “help and support”

What no one thinks about is there comes
A day when the child becomes an adult and
Has a mind of there own to want to know
(About) there parent/s we all know its not
In the interest to put bad things in the
Kids head because why except if its all over
The tv news or internet news well its inevitable
But who is anyone to bag a Childs parent
When the kid has a right to make there own mind up
It’s not like cyps or any1 like that
Is there 24/7 to pick up the pieces.
I know this from evidence and no one has the right
To put that kind of pressure on a innocent
Life, if for any reason the child makes
There own mind up to not want to know
Or feels uncomfortable well then positively
Support in any way possible but dont need to
Add to there own grief going on over
Parent not involved there is such a thing
As self esteem esp these days with depression

  16. Like Billy said –

Anger is good if it can make you wise.

Ghandi showed us the path and said

Anger is a powerful energy that can be transmuted into positive action.

So anger is good if you can enjoy it.

And if you can laugh at yourself when angry.
Then you can charge your counselor for your time.

  17. B. Arndt

It reminds me of a letter I received back in the 1980s from a Family Court Judge who was about to retire. I had been writing at the time about how few fathers were then able to maintain contact with their children after divorce since custodial parents, almost always the mothers, had absolute licence to shut their former partners out of the lives of their children.

The judge wrote to me about the terrible mistake that had been made by the Family Court in giving the custodial parent too much power, “power which some mothers choose to abuse.”

Yes, it is vitally important that female victims of domestic violence are given proper protection. But in offering women that protection our lawmakers are setting up a situation where men across the country stand to lose everything when women choose to abuse their power. And believe me, they are doing it. Every day I hear not just from men but also sisters, mothers, family and friends of men who are fighting false allegations and finding themselves crippled by legal costs, losing homes and children.
