Vote for Father and Child

Filed under: General — Brendon Smith @ 10:36 pm Tue 23rd February 2010

There may not be many organisations out there who do front level work supporting dads and pro-active stuff with health agencies and other groups, one is Father and Child.

In Auckland they are hiring a new coordinator, supporting other fathers groups, encouraging teen dads and helping raise awareness of how PND can effect dads, plus they run the Mauri Ora Father Circle in Onehunga on Wednesday nights.

Go to www.sovereignsunshine.co.nz and please place your vote for Father & Child.

This month Sovereign Sunshine will donate a share of $10,000 in proportion to the votes.
It should take less than a minute if you’ve done it before, or please pass this on… Thanks!

  1. What is maui ora? We have one here but it is such a secret society it appears they are not interested in networking. Many fine words. What have they achieved (If anything)

  3. Mauri Ora Father Circle is the support group end of Father and Child Trust Auckland.

We aim to provide a safe place for open discussion of any fathering issues, hoping to strengthen our collective fathering abilities. We try to think positively and sometimes call ourselves ‘the cup is half full’ group.

7-9pm, at the Onehunga Community Centre, (next to the library),
    83 Church Street, Onehunga, Auckland — ph 525 1690.

We welcome a few new faces, any local fathering advocates or dads who are keen to contribute to the new Auckland scene. Children are welcome, though we do usually leave them in front of a TV with a tin of biscuits!

See link for topics discussed during Mauri Ora Father Circle meetings:
