  1. Bevan, with all the walls of being a feminist around me I have put you guys through the mill, so to speak.

But I have watched you put the effort into caring for the people. And I have seen the wonderful volunteer sacrifices you have made.

Never, ever, in my life have I had the privilege to meet such wonderful men.

Never had I realised the sacrifices that you guys have made until I had to make them myself.

Change is what the people need. Some don’t even know they desperately need this change. What a mess we are in.

If we were in the days of Jesus Christ I would be laying palms in front of your path. I know, I know. What is Julie smoking???

I am not smoking anything. I just had no idea how big and serious this was. I am only 2 years almost down the track. You have been at this 10 years.

Now overseas groups are forming political parties for the same reason. I am going to send these guys to you. Sorry for this. I know how busy you are. But just one half hour of your time might just save a whole country.

  2. Apology – this seems pretty casual and light, when compared to what has been forced onto these families, using the full force of state power and finance.
The best prescription, for minimising these types of breaches, is a culture
of developing responsibility through working systems of accountability.
While beaurocrats are confident that they are acting within a protective shield of secrecy and even then they are protected from accountability by unwritten “common law”, we will never get the most responsible behaviour from these people. (We would have to be idiots to hope for responsible performance within a system so ripe for abuse.)
Even if NZ has a history of Westminster Democracy, with its unwritten and “malleable” constitution, we can install a written constitution and apply modern management principles of responsibility and accountability onto these people. The present disastrously poor “management” of the judiciary makes this imperative and urgent.
Even if public votes for judges (USA style!) are not considered to have great wisdom, they couldn’t have less wisdom than the present judiciary management, for improving relevance, competence and delivery of value for money by the judiciary.
Modern management theory suggests that it is important to allign the personal interests of players (judges) and their management to the stakeholders, or else individuals may be tempted by the inherent conflicts of interest, to play the system for personal advantage. Lets be blunt, this is stretching out hearings and blaming the Government for not putting enough money into the Courts.
The ongoing failure to manage by the judiciary, requires that Parliament protect the public and taxpayers from these thieves, by forcing through management accountability.
These changes can and should be made retrospective. Any individuals prosecuted cannot complain about the sudden retrospective application of accountability, as they publicly say that they are professionals and they speak loudly and publicly about their integrity and honour. Children and families are protected not by talk, but by real world enforcement of accountability.
Responsibility goes much further than pushing out the words of an apology, it goes to the righting of the wrongs done, using the personal resources of the people responsible for the wrongs (does this take breaking up of asset protection trusts?).
Lets look at a simple recent example. Kay Skelton has repeatedly manipulated stupid and willing to be fooled familycaught judges. This ongoing abuse of the familycaught system has wasted large amounts of the time and funds of the father of Jayden Hedley and much of the life of Jayden. The familycaught may have belatedly turned around the day to day care, but it has spectacularly failed to redress the damage that it’s incompetence has done to Jayden’s family, Jaden and his father in particular.
The thieves want to keep the money that they have taken as “legal fees”!
What planet do they think they are on?
I am a christian bankrobber, I now know what I did was wrong, but can I please keep the money? (I have paid tax on it!)
Real world accountability requires that the perpetrators (judges and legal workers) carry the full costs of putting these problems right.
They may suddenly become competent, to the point of even giving value for money.
For the protection of our families, Murray Bacon.

  3. Thanks Julie for taking the journey, because that is what it is! To learn what is and what isn’t, takes the time to learn, then it is your decision. Do you save a a country….or do you wait and rescue it afterwards. When there are so many complex distractions, how does understanding become simple. In the end the individual is always the answer, and so is the decision.

  4. Hi everybody, I am a film school student that has been divorced with children in the mix, although my case is not so severe anymore I am aware that some people have had thier child abducted to other countries by a wife or a husband. I am putting together a mini documentary based on Parental abduction. I am seeking a couple of people that are in this situation and would like to be interviewed on film. I am quite interested in any lady’s experiences also. From my own experience I am aware that children can be recovered. Any help would be most appreciated.
    Thank you

  5. I have a father who had his daughter abducted from Germany by a vindictive mother. .
He came to stay with me in NZ after he contacted Fathers4Justice England.

His daughter is only 9 years old and caught in the middle of the meandering Family Court process.

He is a good bloke and now an unemployed University Professor.

I will speak to him and see if you can have his story,
if you want it? I know TVNZ have contacted him the past .
