Murder or Suicide?

Man found on Christchurch St, with stab wound and knife.

Police say the man, believed to be aged 46 and living on his own, was found lying outside his address in Gloucester Street, Linwood, at 6.50am, with a knife nearby.

Two witnesses returning home having finished their night-shift saw the man, went to his aid and called ambulance and police.

Police say the man is believed to have a single chest wound and his injury is described as critical.

They say an investigation has started to establish how the injury was caused and whether anyone else is involved.

Police have a team of seven investigators working on the case.

They say the victim will not be named until his next of kin are informed and no further comment will be made until the scene examination is completed.

  1. To answer that question would require pure speculation. As long as victim is alive there is the possibility of answers. Seven investigators? I thought Police were short of staff and funds. O’Connor would have us believe so.

  2. Yes, you’re very right.

If it’s not murder Police will seek the assailant, but if it’s attempted suicide who will solve that crime?

  4. I’m waiting for the media coverage of the ‘hundreds’ (really? I saw the coverage!) of women jogging through the streets to protest against male disposability.

  5. The parallel would be if men were jogging in unison and asking how our brother died this way on a suburban street.

But you raise an interesting point. Was it a one man protest?

  6. Oh yes, people (especially men) stab themselves sometimes, fall on their sword as it were.

  7. #5 That’s not to infer that the man is dead.

He’s in hospital and Police are waiting to interview him.

Be interesting to see what eventuates from here.

  8. Detective Sergeant Chris Power said:

The man’s injuries were possibly self inflicted. There was no evidence of a break-in at the man’s home, he had no defensive wounds and the knife was from his own knife block.

  9. If this guy killed himself due to being thrashed by the Family Court infested with legally aided lawyers, harassed by the NZ Police because his ex partner accused him of not being sympathatic after she broke a finger nail and after he had been thrown out of his own home due to the finger nail incident then it becomes clear to the rug munching gender braised machine is alive and well in NZ.

He killed someone, quick lock him up again, quick more protection orders all round, how about another round of protection orders, lock up all men, a man just killed someone.

    That should fix it.
