Google Custom Search

As a frequent user of this site function I am noticing a change in the results returned.

Simply put, it is returning a scrambled bunch of results avoiding the search criteria.

I can use Google independently and that search will produce what I know is there as the first match.

  1. Can you give any examples? I’ve done a couple of searches and I don’t see anything “scrambled”.

The reason MENZ uses Google Custom Search instead of the standard WordPress function is that there are lots of old pages still in HTML that aren’t in the database.

One day I might find the time to update them but it won’t be in the foreseeable future.

  2. It had been functioning fine until this week.

Something like ‘education issues 2018’ will bring up that post outside of the site, and has done previously from the site function.

I’ve no idea why there’s been a sudden change in the stack of results.
