The Feminist Male

Filed under: General — Downunder @ 1:04 pm Sun 5th August 2018

They do exist, right?

Do they or is it just a social hangup men have where they are inclined to defend any female under attack?

I saw this comment on Menz the other day;

Nice to see a firmly grounded man deeply in touch with his inner feminist side.

Does this suggest that we are all feminist but in the rugged last frontier of New Zealand we lost our way?

Are we talking about males in recovery finding their true Feminist identity?

[Just Curious, of course, I don’t want to assume what was meant]

Is the Feminist male, broadly speaking, nothing more than a man who sits down because it’s more profitable to do so than engage in a debate on behalf of his fellow man?

[If I don’t have that problem, it’s not my problem]

Tracey Watkins Martin let rip with a well known Feminist mantra during the election campaign, “Women must stick together.” in defense of a political opponent.

Does every woman buy that line. No, of course not, and many, happy in their own lives, have no interest in the debate unless perhaps one of their son’s suffers an unfortunate encounter with the Feminist system.

Is it only men who have had a detrimental experience with the system that are more vocal about identifying Feminism in action or is it those affected to a tipping point that they can’t bounce back from – the she devil and the hunted dog, that’s an old movie now but it’s a very real situation for some people.

[When I saw that movie, I didn’t even realise she was sitting next to me]

You can understand some individuals personal objection to this all encompassing Feminism – any way a woman wins is fine as long as she wins and there have been extreme cases of this nature endorsed and supported by the NZ Family Court – but don’t expect compensation any time soon. At best you might get an apology a century from now.

Of recent, we’ve seen a ‘little bit’ of rebellion amongst the girls. The reaction to the #metoo movement appears to have kick started this and even big names like Hiliary Clinton wanted a piece of that limelight.

But then I see a line from a young woman today;

“Simply put, I’m not a Feminist because I care about women’s issues.”

Perhaps we saw a glimpse of this in a recent post, A Woman’s View

But wait, is there more? Does this mean you care about men’s issues too or you have some reason to dislike what you see as Feminism.

So, if it is getting somewhat confusing as to what Feminism is now, in the world of women, then possibly there might be confusion as to what a Feminist male is now.

Help me out here, what’s happening in your world, and how are you seeing this?
