WORKING AT THE TOP OF THE CLIFF

By the time something reaches the bottom, let’ just say it is not good.

We have a problem Huston, we need to work at the top.

I doubt if every Man Group along the stretch of our country was visited that you would find much in the way of a hearty laugh or kumbaeya..no, and rightly so, in times of trouble there is only seriousness until success. Success is hard to make out of the messy situation that faces many Men after separation.

The damage is there, waiting to be done.

We don’t want to have Men having to go there. We need some preventative measures and no one is ever gunna offer this, it is just not coming.

Firstly the countrywide population has to be made aware that there is a problem,,, just in six months more rules have been put in place like road spikes, no body knows…. not even the road users!

The massive fact that the statistics for SUICIDE are being investigated for a specific profession of Male driven industry is indeed a window into this world in which the Men of this country live.

This work is hopefully going to drive more cliff top work for Men here.
It is imperative that all that can be openly discussed will be done so and that the conversation it kept alive , do not let people dwell only on this one profession as politicians and media sometimes do,, this needs to be looking at the wide view, a real spot light.

  1. I did a couple of #RamereShorts today.

Not everyone experiences separation the same so changed the last two lines to reflect different experiences.

    #RamereShorts

    He left his home
    It was over
    He had to get away
A hollow outline of his former self
    Wounds
    Open and raw
    Grief, an aching heart
    A broken man

    He left his home
    It was over
    He had to get away
A hollow outline of his former self
    Wounds
    Open and raw
    And thoughts of death
    Darkened his mind

A hollow outline of his former self
    Wounds
    Open and raw
    Bairns in his heart
As he strode through the door.

  4. Two Men came to my door this morning, they were from Jehovah Witness, they were very nice and very concerned, we chatted about the societal conundrum that it is and about youngsters and the lack of male/family influences etc. It seems to me there are a lot of Men out there who know and feel this pressure pot…. I get told this (change of society) has been in the making for some long while,,, if people are feeling the soul of humanity slipping away then surely there is no time to waste.

  5. Johovah Witness

If you’re busy and you want to see their jaws drop and their backs as they run for the gate, just say,

    “I am orthodox Jew.”

  6. Evan ,,, I was not too busy and when I rattled on to them their jaws did drop as I wished them luck, told them my lovely neighbour was also doing her bit by helping others as they drove away to see her… I believed their concerns were as real as my own.

  7. Watched Judith Collins getting all teary eyed in Parliament yesterday about participating in her father’s death.

Be good if she could point to an empationed speech about children being allowed to have a relationship with their father.

  8. I’ll put this link here for you Mama rather than on the 2004 post.

The Australian Law Reform Commission recently conducted an inquiry into the family law system. The results of the Inquiry were released in March 2019.

We note that due to the fact that the ALRC review committee is almost entirely made up of lawyers and judges, we had declined to make a submission to the inquiry.

The unfortunate recommendations made in the report, such as the removal of shared parenting,  have shown that our concerns were quite well justified.

  9. The trouble is that people, public and politicians alike, do not see the Fathers rights, they can not back this in general because they see some Fathers as good and some as bad, what no one is willing to realise or can not see, (something they have to experience for themselves) is that our very society and its’ laws are pitted against the male.
This has been made detrimentally worse and on going by the ‘bad’ statistics of DV and Child Abuse leading to this no tolerance attitude toward Men here.

It takes little more than a sniff from a woman if she wishes to denounce her partner/husband.

Good guys all over are being lead around on chains only to be set free once they will surely be caught, muzzled or worse.

  11. The Aussies from what I’ve heard have generally had a better deal from their Family Courts.

Not sure what it’s like there now but with the Conservative win in the recent election men may be getting a renewed respect.

  12. JUDGES have been accused of incompetence, bias, sexism and putting children in harm’s way, in a jaw-dropping official dossier which claims Australia’s divorce courts are more distressing than dying of cancer.

The Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) has raised “serious concerns’’ over the conduct of some judges, lawyers and child protection workers, in an extraordinary showdown with the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court.

This is from 22 June this year.

  15. I attended one of Barry Taylor’s seminars about 2 years ago. In my opinion, he has the most realistic understanding of suicide issues that I have seen or heard in NZ. This is more true for men’s suicide issues, where I haven’t seen or heard of a realistic attitude and approach within the “mental health system”. (Maybe that is an unfair comment to make, as most of these mental health workers were severely constrained by underfunding, waiting lists as a substitute for treatment and apparently dysfunctional systems in these organisations.)
The way that Barry Taylor presented his material was practical and realistic, for the delicacy of the material that he was presenting. This is important and uncommon.
If you are interested in this material, then I highly recommend his seminars.

    Family Law Report
Last modified on 10 April, 2019.

The Australian Law Reform Commission report, Family Law for the Future: An Inquiry into the Family Law System, was tabled in Parliament today by the Attorney-General, the Hon Christian Porter MP.
    https://www.alrc.gov.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/alrc_report_135_final_report_web-min_12_optimized_1_0.pdf
This report contains recommendations that repeat platitudes made when the NZ familycaught$ were opened in 1980, now almost 40 years ago and still not operational in either Australia or NZ.
The only proposition that might offer hope for improvements, lies in a section “13. Building Accountability and Transparency”. Every clause contains the word “should”, leaving the impression that the ALRC doesn’t see any prospect that these changes will be made. I guess that this is because such accountability changes would be against the paramount best interests of the legal workers. I hope that my suspicion is wrong.
If this report was translated to match the NZ systems, it would provide (at no cost to NZ) a much better blueprint for change in NZ, than anything that the NZLC has ever come up with.
We should appreciate our intellectually and morally superior Australian friends more.
One day Judge Trapski might be able to relax in his grave. My guess is he will be rolling over continuously for a few thousand years yet.

  19. Far Out,,,so many petitions… does any of this get real attention?

Some one has to get vocal, prick the ears up of all those who have gone through this trauma that is the experience of so many Men and their family’s.

How can a problem so large, so large it is negatively affecting children and their family’s now and way into their futures, be unseen and unheard.
