Many will not understand it

The founder of Dubai, Sheik Rashid, was asked about the future of his country, and he replied, “My grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I ride a Mercedes, my son rides a Land Rover, and my grandson is going to ride a Land Rover…but my great-grandson is going to have to ride a camel again. Why is that, he was asked?

And his reply was, “Hard times create strong men, strong men create easy times. Easy times create weak men, weak men create difficult times. Many will not understand it, but you have to raise warriors, not parasites.”

And add to that the historical reality that all great empires…the Persians, the Trojans, the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, and in later years, the British…all rose and perished within 240 years.

They were not conquered by external enemies; they rotted from within. America has now passed that 240 year mark, and the rot is starting to be visible and is accelerating. We are past the Mercedes and Land Rover Years….the camels are on the horizon.

The greatest generation consisted of 18-year-old kids storming the beaches at Normandy. And now, two generations later, some 18-year-old kids want to hide in safe rooms when they hear words that hurt their feelings. They also want free stuff from the government because they think they are entitled to it.

The “camels are on the horizon” for sure. Something to ponder? History has a way of repeating itself.

  1. I like the reply, but not 100% on the conclusion.
“but you have to raise warriors, not parasites.”

Twice in a week, friends have tried to bludge money.
One I gave in, as the sum was little.
But the other not, as the sum was larger.
Already I have debts, unpaid by a few.

Yet even when I myself had no money, I would not ask.
I live without debts as best I can, or I might experience the same.
On what ground does, such a relationship stand.
Little by little, one friend will feel guilty.
In time I know, the debt will get paid in some way.
Even already over decades, is many little forgiven debts.
But the other if loaned, could ruin the friendship.

Both for some reason, have always done it.

Neither has good reason, to borrow money.
One simply refuses to work, but can easily do so.
One wastes his money on fun, irresponsibly.

What is the warrior part of the conclusion, if that’s the fix.
Men running around fighting, is to be in hard times.
What battle fought is needed for peace, if war is then inevitable.

The warrior exists then, only as the cycle repeats.
Why limit then the man, to what he inherently becomes.
Something other than the parasite, weak or the warrior.

Why then have the wise comment, without a solution.
Does one understand, you can’t stop things repeating.
Or does one understand, humans have free will.
They could choose a different path, to just an animal one.

  2. What becomes the reason, for the warrior.
We are all witnessing, how war becomes lawless.
Not only Putin’s war, but lawlessness in Africa from war.
Nothing good in practice, comes from lawlessness.
So making war, cannot be the reason for the warrior.
Is it not a great risk, with histories half a chance of winning.
Even then the winnings, is just wrecked and burnt.

Then there can only be one reason, for the warrior.
To hold at bay the tyrant, who chooses to have war.
So recently we see forty nations, helping one for a reason.
What then of any nation, is it’s own borders changeable.
Would Japan want, what the Russians took.
The history books filled, with excuses for war.

I think Russia, will sue for peace.
    Wanting to redraw, the map.
If only, he would show us his map.
Until then, the war will continue.
Many in Russia, want all of Ukraine back.
People wanting others to die, is not good.

    ………….

I was listening to an interview, of a Russian.
Who is in no way, a Putin supporter.
But he pointed out, how bad a choice Putin was.
How democracy and freedom, was just missed.
Instead as with many nations, a gang of thugs run things.
We could have had twenty years, of a different Russia.
There would be no war, with its destruction.
Instead a prosperous Russia, with a good friend in Ukraine.
Like a child that can’t understand, hopes are dashed.

  3. Would you have to teach children, to fear others.
To be a warrior, requires teaching others are a threat.
Others then must do the same, as you became the warrior.
Just one choice, can force many others to do the same.

Today my daughter, has a sleepover with a friend staying.
There is no teaching needed, as they naturally play.
How much better is that world, than one of fear.
They have no thoughts, of the enemy coming to get them.

Maybe because it’s girls, not boys.
Violence bred into humans, by endless war.
Power and ego still allowed to corrupt things, the worst being men.
Just when humans can reach for the stars, they resort to war.

  4. I think the last week, was not nice weather wise.

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/128980129/marokopa-father-continues-to-evade-police-searches

It is hard to understand, what’s happening.
As they can feed themselves, in the bush.
And they must have shelter, for the weather.
And they would need fire, for cold nights.
    And they must, be somewhere.

“Hard times create strong men, strong men create easy times”

This may be an example, of creating some strong children.
And in today’s world, a near unique experience.

You would think, you could see them at night.
With thermal imaging, and a drone.
I may be overestimating that, with dense bush.
Give some soldiers, the task of finding them.
They don’t need to get them, as others can do that.
He may need to be talked, into surrender.

Why has the father, behaved so drastically.
Because this is not normal, and is unnerving.
There must be a length of time, when action must happen.

So we must consider, how the mother feels.
This is much more, than just obstruction of contact.
There is no justification, for that experience.
So this is no action as a father, that I could support.
Or I would agree to mothers, doing similar to fathers.

  5. The Quote from the Sheik in this post are ear opening,,, I think he is meaning a warrior in life, ones’ own life, some one who stands alone if necessary and is capable and self reliant, social media has made us weak as we never stand alone, the use of the word ‘parasite’ is very strong, an insult for any individual indeed, no one would want such a description for their child.

My daughter and my son are self warriors, they are meekish but proud, they are self reliant.

Resilience is not being instilled as shit stirring politicians and their parasites linger on.

  6. The problem is, some people act in parasitic ways.
At the extreme, the newborn is inherently parasitic.
We confuse money, and making others do things for us.
So everyone is parasitic, dependant on the work of others.
If they take but doesn’t give, then it’s parasitic.

In nature there is an equal, and opposite.
    Parasitic, vs symbiotic relationships.

Is that not the reason, we are driven to make relationships.
Our ability to give, is matched by our need to take.
Alone we only have, what we can work for.
But together, the other partners work helps you.
And your work helps you, but also helps them.

Even the poor person jobless, walks a road made by others.
The rich man, didn’t himself build the rocket for a trip to space.
It’s not a surprise, humans like getting ‘free’ stuff.
Worse if politicians, think more dependency is good.

  7. Nice one DJ,, I like your thinking,, you are right, we can act inherently parasitic, but surely there can be some beauty and virtue to some parasitical behaviour, and that it be a good thing to build a relationship where you allow the feeding off one another, you can still have the soul of a warrior to share with someone who has the same…a parasitical relationship with the heart of a warrior.

Personally I prefer autonomy where possible.

Bottom line is that it is not good to be a parasite and a parasite only.

  8. What if, there was something better.
The process of development, not stagnant.
Up until recently, we were in a different age.
Even the better could be genocided, by the worse.
Shear numbers, or new disease not killing the foe.
Slowly but certainly, knowledge has grown with war.
Newton and the industrial revolution, society and law.
Globally housing, and culture have trended the same.
The need or acceptance of war, should create peace.
Can you image humans, ready to colonise space.
    The arguments, and the accidents.
Can we compete with great reward, or ruin it.

Far better, for men to look at there creating.
And this is a subject I like, as I had a similar idea.

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/science/104735702/forget-rocket-fuel–us-startup-plans-to-build-a-space-catapult

I really like the idea, as you can put it on a high mountain.
11.2 km/s is escape velocity, to get out into the solar system.
While low orbit is 6.6 km/s, so about half of escape velocity.

“Rather than using propellants like kerosene and liquid oxygen to ignite a fire under a rocket, SpinLaunch plans to get a rocket spinning in a circle at up to 5000mph (about 8050kmh) and then let it go-more or less throwing the rocket to the edge of space, at which point it can light up and deliver objects like satellites into orbit.”

That’s 2,236 m/s, or 1/5 of the speed needed for space.
And about a third, of orbiting velocity.
So high altitudes with the added rockets, orbit is possible.
Why limit this to 2.2 km/s, why not get 11.2 km/s.

I imagined a long fail gun, also in vacuum.
Built using the slope of a mountain, and tunnelling.
Maybe if both could be combined, you can get the speed.

Going to place is one thing, but living there is different.
Instead of a single spaceship, you need thousands of tons.
Endless spaceships, before finally being self sufficient.

So this idea is just the start, of ways to get into space.
Load shoot, load then shoot again.
Thousands, upon thousands of little robots.
Slowly making there way, to deliver its cargo.

To colonise Mars, unlike the moon which is easy.
First you must deliver, enough not only for survival.
You must deliver, a plan for self sufficiency.
Rockets delivering humans to space, due to G forces.
But technology like this already tested, the bulk of cargo.

Just as we can make arguments, about warriors.
What happens, if the worse enters this new age.
Successful of dominance, even over planets.
