Acting like a MAN???
Is the mother in the article Shock at ‘subjecting children to unimaginable and horrific living conditions ‘acting outside her normal gender role??? Is this possible?? If so then males must be capable of it as well. This then makes it a non gender issue…period.
James Cameron, when writing AVATAR, portrayed a society on planet PANDORA as being close to ‘mother’ nature but even James slipped up when he showed only the female of the species looking after the children. There needs to be a paradigm shift in the way males are portrayed in society, only then will all the bullshit in the courts disappear. Until then pull the hatch down and prepare to take a beating.
Anybody acting this way is acting outside a human role full stop.
I would reject outright any assertion that this woman is acting like a man for the rank prejudice it is. There are so few folk who would act in this way that introducing gender into the picture can only be politically and idealogically motivated and should be decried as bigotry.
This individual is a demon.

Who says that the woman is “acting outside her normal gender role”. I did not see those words.
It is well researched that most child abuse is carried out by women, perhaps because women have most of the time with children.

An analysis of the great art and music and literature over hundreds or even thousands of years – almost exclusively male produced – would support you here.
Comment by gwallan — Wed 27th January 2010 @ 11:10 pm
I’m unsure whether you misunderstood John’s post entirely or whether you’re being deliberately insensitive and provocative towards men, insinuating that they feel no other emotion except aggression.
It appears from this study that estrogen is more likely the hormone that contributes most towards aggressive behaviour.
Results. Almost 24% of all relationships had some violence, and half (49.7%) of those were reciprocally violent. In nonreciprocally violent relationships, women were the perpetrators in more than 70% of the cases.
Comment by SicKofNZ — Wed 27th January 2010 @ 11:13 pm
Overly aggressive men tend to be deficient in T. Medical level ie low supplements generally have a calming effect.
The roid rage syndrome comes about because it involves massive doses of the hormone.
The link between testosterone and aggression is undeserved and is more likely an old wives – or more likely feminists – tale.
Comment by gwallan — Wed 27th January 2010 @ 11:16 pm
No hormone is unique to either gender.
The sense I’ve got over the years is that imbalanced hormones are causal of aggression in both genders.

These are actual quotes from a variety of mainstream feminists, stating their opinions and positions. The one common denominator is the obvious and blatant hatred of men. No reputable Father’s Rights advocate could get away with making statements such as these- any man daring to say these kinds of things about women would instantly be branded a “gender-supremacist”.
“When a woman reaches orgasm with a man she is only collaborating with the patriarchal system, eroticizing her own oppression…” Sheila Jeffrys .
“Heterosexual intercourse is the pure, formalized expression of contempt for women’s bodies.” Andrea Dworkin

“MAN: … an obsolete life form… an ordinary creature who needs to be watched … a contradictory baby-man …”
“TESTOSTERONE POISONING: … ‘Until now it has been though that the level of testosterone in men is normal simply because they have it. But if you consider how abnormal their behavior is, then you are led to the hypothesis that almost all men are suffering from ‘testosterone poisoning.'” from A Feminist Dictionary”, ed. Kramarae and Treichler, Pandora Press, 1985
“Patriarchy requires violence or the subliminal threat of violence in order to maintain itself… The most dangerous situation for a woman is not an unknown man in the street, or even the enemy in wartime, but a husband or lover in the isolation of their home.” Gloria Steinem in Revolution from Within: A Book of Self-Esteem, pp. 259-61..
“Women take their roles of caretakers very seriously and when they hear of someone who’s taken advantage of a child, they react more strongly than men do.” – Kathleen C. Faller, professor of social work at the University of Michigan
“I believe that women have a capacity for understanding and compassion which a man structurally does not have, does not have it because he cannot have it. He’s just incapable of it.” – Former Congresswoman Barbara Jordan
“Under patriarchy, no woman is safe to live her life, or to love, or to mother children. Under patriarchy, every woman is a victim, past, present, and future. Under patriarchy, every woman’s daughter is a victim, past, present, and future. Under patriarchy, every woman’s son is her potential betrayer and also the inevitable rapist or exploiter of another woman,” Andrea Dworkin, Liberty, p.58..

“The newest variations on this distressingly ancient theme center on hormones and DNA: men are biologically aggressive; their fetal brains were awash in androgen; their DNA, in order to perpetuate itself, hurls them into murder and rape.” Andrea Dworkin, Letters from a War Zone, p. 114..
When asked: “You [Greer] were once quoted as saying your idea of the ideal man is a woman with a dick. Are you still that way inclined?”
Dr Greer (denying that she said it): “I have a great deal of difficulty with the idea of the ideal man. As far as I’m concerned, men are the product of a damanged gene. They pretend to be normal but what they’re doing sitting there with benign smiles on their faces is they’re manufacturing sperm. They do it all the time. They never stop. I mean, we women are more reasonable. We pop one follicle every 28 days, whereas they are producing 400 million sperm for each ejaculation, most of which don’t take place anywhere near an ovum. I don’t know that the ecosphere can tolerate it.” Germaine Greer, at a Hilton Hotel literary lunch, promoting her book #34; The Change– Women, Aging and the Menopause#34; . From a newsreport dated 14/11/91

“Sex as desired by the class that dominates women is held by that class to be elemental, urgent, necessary, even if or even though it appears to require the repudiation of any claim women might have to full human standing. In the subordination of women, inequality itself is sexualized, made into the experience of sexual pleasure, essential to sexual desire.” Andrea Dworkin, Letters from a War Zone, p. 265..
“AIDS education will not get very far until young men are taught how not to rape young women and how to eroticize trust and consent; and until young women are supported in the way they need to be redefining their desires.” Naomi Wolf, The Beauty Myth, p. 168..
“In everything men make, they hollow out a central place for death, let its rancid smell contaminate every dimension of whatever still survives. Men especially love murder. In art they celebrate it, and in life they commit it. They embrace murder as if life without it would be devoid of passion, meaning, and action, as if murder were solace, still their sobs as they mourn the empitness and alienation of their lives.” Andrea Dworkin, Letters from a War Zone, p. 214..

“Only with the occasional celebrity crime do we allow ourselves to think the nearly unthinkable: that the family may not be the ideal and perfect living arrangement after all – that it can be a nest of pathology and a cradle of gruesome violence,… Even in the ostensibly “functional,” nonviolent family, where no one is killed or maimed, feelings are routinely bruised and often twisted out of shape. There is the slap or the put-down that violates a child’s shaky sense of self, the cold, distracted stare that drives a spouse to tears, the little digs and rivalries… Barbara Ehrenreich in Time Magazine
“The nuclear family is a hotbed of violence and depravity.” Gordon Fitch
“How will the family unit be destroyed? …[T]he demand alone will throw the whole ideology of the family into question, so that women can begin establishing a community of work with each other and we can fight collectively. “The cultural institutions which embody and enforce those interlocked aberrations–for instance, law, art, religion, nation-states, the family, tribe, or commune based on father-right–these institutions are real and they must be destroyed.” Andrea Dworkin
“I was struck by what a beneficial alternative to the nuclear family this arrangement [communal housing and child raising] was for these women and children.” Lenore Walker, after visiting one of the early shelters for battered women, as cited in The Battered Woman, p.195
“The nuclear family must be destroyed, and people must find better ways of living together…. Whatever its ultimate meaning, the break-up of families now is an objectively revolutionary process…. No woman should have to deny herself any opportunities because of her special responsibilities to her children… Families will be finally destroyed only when a revolutionary social and economic organization permits people’s needs for love and security to be met in ways that do not impose divisions of labor, or any external roles, at all.” Linda Gordon, “Functions of the Family,” WOMEN: A Journal of Liberation, Fall, 1969

You have dates on only some of these. Do you detect any changes over time? or location or ethnicity?
The latest Next magazine has an article by Rosemary McCleod that suggests younger women reject this view as a 1970’s anacronism.
Last time I went past the Bendon store they had huge quantities of protest fuel and it must be 1972 when I last heard of a brassiere actually being consigned to the brazier.

Someone should explain in simple words to Dr? (damaged gene)Greer that the difference between chimps and humans is a matter of approx 3%, mostly on the Y chromosome. Take an average chimp and an average woman and compare the genes and it is largely a difference in the amount of hair produced.

Maybe these quotes are being talked about by some NZ academics. I spent quite a few years teaching in NZ Universities and while some of this stuff existed in the 2 institutions I taught at there was an ecclectic collection of other views. Some might say that Stuart at Massey provides part of the balance. His research provides useful data to conter such nonsense.
Peter Zohrab acieved his LLB and is currently beavering away at psychology in NZ univesities. I doubt you could say he has been cowered from his views by the likes of these academics even though he has done some of the “radical” papers. Peter’s difficulties with the Law Society seem more to do with a closed shop than academia. Personally I find some of his views as rabid as those you quoted.
Can I please ask that John stop seeking to bait Keen Skier and others to respond to his agenda. The beauty of a blog is sharing with other ; not creating tensions and seeking to put words into the mouths of others. This is unhelpful and stifles debate, communication and sharing.

It would seem your agenda may be to shout down others whose views you find unpleasantly moderate? Maybe to stifle or censor debate?
If people have views different than our own sometimes we can learn something or expand our thinking.

Yes I believe you do. Good debate requires listening. Have’nt noticed much of that. I am not interested in that type of debate.
We can all introduce quotes: Have you visited Stuart Birks Gender Page.
Consider this: Erin Pizzey founder of the first Women’s Refuge in the UK in 1971 said in 2007.
“This has nothing to do with domestic violence, this is the feminist movement which is basically hijacking the subject because it is a worthy cause” in their terms, and also they wanted the funding because they couldn’t get funding as open feminists, but what they have managed to do is to turn it into a billion dollar industry, which has effectively destroyed family life in the Western world and feminised the courts, the law, everything else in its wake, and the result is that there’s millions of men who have been falsely accused, who have lost their children, who have been extradited from their families.”

I can’t speak to the agendas in NZ universities. Over my side of the pond I do know that future welfare and/or social workers are being taught that male victims of abuse should not be believed. This is occurring in at least two post secondary schools in my state alone.
It’s one thing for feminist ideology to be presented in classrooms but when it extends to the deliberate, institutionalised marginalisation of victims of abuse it is a thing of extraordinary prejudice.
It is the teaching of a prejudice that impinges directly on the lives of men and boys who have been harmed and will be denied necessary help because of that teaching.
This is no “1970’s anacronism” as you put it. It is happening today.

Last year on my birthday I saw a young Girl walking on a busy main road Crying and very distraught…Did I stop and check to see if she was alright and and if need be ,offer her comfort ….No way….!!! …And ‘Why’ didn’t I stop ….???The Fear of the finger been pointed at me, as in I am potential Pedophile ….I did phone Police to inform of the situation ….The Police Lady who I spoke too on the phone ask me if I have check on the young Girl demeanor…I said ‘Pardon, you got to kidding me Lady..So you can charge me of inappropriate behavior on a minor…No thanks’…..
And also what happen to my Ex Brother on been falsely accused of inappropriate behavior on his two daughters,
by his ex partner…..and seeing a Good Man and a Decent Father destroyed by the Feminize Justice System of N.Z…And to hear from his Defense Barrister that this is a common practice in N.Z of ‘False accusation’ on good Men and decent Fathers….By Kiwi Woman….Do I want or my Son go through that ‘Hell’…..No way….!!!!!..
You might be very surprised how many other Men I have spoken too who are giving up on Kiwi Woman and are looking elsewhere for a future partner…Can I blame them…No….In fact good on them….Do you good sir, want live Life in Fear..????.I think not….and neither do I….Enough is Enough…..
Oh Thailand has it problems and its not perfect…But at least I will not Live Life in Fear ….Hope you understand
Kind regards John Dutchie
