The online Petition to Jacinda asking for a MINISTRY FOR MEN

Hi ALL…there is an online PETITION [on the NZ Parliament website and currently open until 31/12/2019] asking the government to fund a MINISTRY FOR MEN as a means to better address ‘Mens Issues’ and the many negative outcomes affecting MEN, their families and society as a whole.

There has been a women’s ministry since 1984 that has provided targeted research, advocacy and advice across government agencies and to politicians regarding women’s issues, and it’s achievements have been impressive. There is still, however, no such ministry advocating for men even though men have poorer health outcomes and die earlier, men’s suicide rates are 2.7 times than that for women, they have much higher homelessness rates, are more likely to use violence and engage in hazardous drinking, etc causing a whole raft of negative outcomes.

Is this FAIR —–>

Extract from the NZ Medical Journal – 6th October 2017, Volume 130 Number 1463

To map the contemporary literature and explore whether the available research meets the needs of men’s health….results of the literature search showed a striking need for research on men’s health issues in which the risks are modifiable. For heart disease, stroke, and to a lesser degree of modifiable lifestyle change, cancer, studies of women’s health outnumbers men’s health by two to one…A further search was made of Health Research Council funding since 2010…reviewed titles and abstracts of all successful applications to identify sex-specific funding. The search revealed that for every $1 spent exclusively on women’s health research, men’s health research received $0.06.

No wonder so many men feel disengaged from the political process, excluded from having a voice and marginalised. Sadly some men resort to extreme violence in response to increasing frustrations with the system.

  1. I’ve been meddling around in the hood for a while.
    Filled out submissions.
Turned up to protests. In the rain again and again.
Written polite letters asking for help.
    Made appointments with MPs.
Even took my case to the human rights commission.
    I think men’s issues is a worthy cause – else I wouldn’t have bothered.
I’m not sure exactly what this is I’m waiting for.
But I’m not gonna wait for our prime minister to care about me.
Nor will I wait for men in these pages to respect each other.
I won’t wait for MoMa to include every one.
    I’ll do things my way.
And this time- I’m not even gonna bother with the paperwork.
After five years of this , I’ve become one of those men with a cagey smile.
    A ‘don’t fuck with me ‘ persona.
And I wasn’t this way before.
You write your letters for me please.
And when they invent the triple a anger management program.
Tell em I’ll be up on stage or in the front toe.
    Which would you rather be?

  2. When I first came across this site, I was frustrated and angry on behalf of my Son, waves of these feelings still reverberate around our Family and Friends.

I see young Men, like my Son they are injured and they struggle to stay positive in their lives.
None of these guys I see are getting help.
I used to have the attitude backed by fury that Men should have to change to suit the times, it seems they are having to re apply for their place in this western world, along with the minority groups, even though the natural place Men have held for all time should have them held in a place where they belonged.

The stage or the front row? As a woman from a Man, with a Man, Mother to a Man, a friend to Men, I hoped some of these Men would take the stage but reality bites and the reality is that so many of the Men I know are despondent and wont even turn up to the front row. We talk of suicide but stats that dont show are the slow and painful deaths of the spirits of our Men.

So if anyone, anyone. can serve to take the stage or the front row, this is great, this is good, you will at the least feel some unity, some comradeship, and hopefully some hope.

There is only good in signing this petition.

  3. Perhaps what you do not realize mama is the extent of political persecution that individuals have to deal and that’s beyond one’s children held as bargaining chips.

Most of what is true here is regarded as fantasy, exaggeration, spiteful bullshit etc …

Not a reality that the individual cannot confront or an audience would fathom how to deal with.

It’s a means not only of control but graduation elimination of financial elimination of financial and social status.

    Comment by Evan Myers — Tue 14th May 2019 @ 11:12 am

  4. That should be …

A means not only of control but the seizure of the individuals financial integrity and the gradual eliminations of male financial and social statuses.

  5. Dear Evan, there is much I do not realise, some Mens’ roads have indeed been hard and long fought from what I have read and come to hear, justice for them and for the others they have represented has not been what they have hoped for, but this petition, (as an example), is at least a way of doing something, especially since all we can not afford, or sacrifice, like some do, to carry the burden continually on our shoulders.

  6. cases like this is THE reason to have a Ministry for Men!!!!!

    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=12230987

It is hard to comprehend how someone can get away with doing this and come away without conviction when , in this day in age, a man can be convicted for calling someone a name!!!!

The time has come, this BS can not go on.

  7. When you consider the case posted in 6 and compare the approach taken in this article

    https://i.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/111091452/what-is-overkill-and-why-is-it-so-common-in-new-zealand

    … towards ‘overkill’.

There’s also the issue of the related use of the Weatherspoon homicide who as I understand it was subject to a recent change of prescribed medication.

  8. It appears to me that any US research that supports an sensible outcome for men is automatically banned in this country.

I’m reading the research statements in the above comment with raised eyebrows thinking that sounds more like rabbit-hole fantasies than a realistic conclusion.

  9. If you add in this section from the post text …

To a lesser degree … studies on lifestyle changes …
and women’s health studies outnumber men two to one …

You can see how feminist politics has not only commodared health research but operates a propaganda dialogue on this area that doctors call lifestyle changes.

  10. Do Men go into relationships expecting to have a child???, whether yes or no,they do not hold those cards,,do some Men go into a relationship with rose coloured glasses???,,, of course, but hey this is supposed to be basic human behaviour,,,but no, not now, it has become a serious, SERIOUS consideration for Men, and even then there will be massive risk in entering a relationship with a Women.

We have come from Love will conquer all to who will conquer who?

What are the answers now, we need new questions.

#7 and #8,,, the case in #6, is crazily overkill in consideration these were strangers, it makes it so SICK that this girl could go on with a mere smack on the hand.
The young law student attacked has had a rude awakening to Justice for Men, we can only hope that given the effects of his case he will use this some how to champion the cause in Aus.
I agree very much Boonie taht some of that research sounded like shit.

  11. Research on MODIFIABLE lifestyle changes, how about when a woman is being controlling , MAN, take heed of the warnings. YES!, where are the findings on THESE genuine issues for MEN.

    Comment by mama — Thu 16th May 2019 @ 8:34 am

  12. @mama

    Controlling women.

Going back to the case you posted in comment #6

21st birthday, family event, key to the door life.

This girl is by herself passed and carries out a supposedly random act of out of character violence.

Who, what, when, where, how and why.

Why is the most important, we want to know why.

What are chances that the offender had fantasized about this Clementine Ford styled attack in relation to a person she had previously tried to control.

That guy had enough sense to do a runner.

It all comes to a head at this point at Joe Blogs on the street ends up being the victim of her meltdown.

    A $250 fine doesn’t answer those questions.

Chances are Daddy’s entitled little princess got a get of jail free card and we never got the whole story.

  14. #10
    quote

During the campaign for the women’s vote a Wellington man was rudely condemned for the delivery of a pamphlet to letter boxes that said something to the effect …

‘A women’s politics should not extend past her husband’s front gate.’

Probably a little too late now to ask what inspired that thought.

    Comment by Boonie — Thu 16th May 2019 @ 9:22 am

  15. Coming out with a hardline statement such as feminism is an extreme ideology and while that is correct it cannot be believed if it can’t be seen.

This is one of the reasons you we will never see a M4M.

It’s primarily the country’s deep state and only intends to be seen as and when it chooses and in what context it chooses.

If you look at the Women’s agenda up to 2022 it is quite clear in its goals of establishing financial independence and social freedom for all females at the cost of the state.

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how this might be funded and at whose expense.

    Comment by Boonie — Thu 16th May 2019 @ 11:07 am

  16. Hopefully no man will touch the fiendish chick ,ever again, even with a barge pole.

You gotta have some hope that MMP will provide some common sense and that it will become clear that Men need protection from gross injustice some time soon.

Radicalisation is presently on the radar, there is plenty of radicalisation here at home in the guise of chicks.

The one that threw my family for a six is currently doing the same to her next victim, I would call this recidivous behaviour. She alone must have spent a major whack of government money at the bit time expense of at least three people, not to mention the poorer everyday taxpayer.

  18. Sometimes these things slip under the MSN in NZ but here’s an equally violent young party goer with a female victim.

    But why?

In journalism we’ve stopped asking this question.

    Why?

That’s a dedication to politics rather than trade.

    Comment by Evan Myers — Thu 16th May 2019 @ 3:51 pm

  19. Oops. Forgot the quote.

A 20-year-old woman who stabbed a Christchurch woman to death at a party will spend at least 10 years behind bars.

Katrina Epiha has been sentenced to life imprisonment at the High Court in Christchurch..

During an alcohol-fuelled rage, she fatally stabbed 32-year-old Alicia Nathan, and threatened to kill another at an Avonhead property in August 2017.

  20. # 18, Evan,,, maybe the answer is here https://menz.org.nz/2018/the-female-funding-failure/,,,you know when someone is unsure of themselves but put on the spot, they act aside of themselves, do something stupid, even out of character.

    Comment by mama — Thu 16th May 2019 @ 7:51 pm

  21. I think there is a large difference between doing something out of character and being socially primed to explode at some point in much the same way as a random terrorist carries out an unfathomable atrocity.

These isolated incidents are excused because of the girl family.

    Comment by Evan Myers — Thu 16th May 2019 @ 8:14 pm

  22. There is a difference indeed but I was asking myself if there was a similarity, in that being put on the spot these ‘ladies’ might be feeling the pressure to react in some way, lack of remorse comes across, some arrogance perhaps coming from an unrealised but expectant entitlement.

I am hoping this entitlement experiment will not see these isolated incidents increase, but the question why remains.

    Comment by mama — Thu 16th May 2019 @ 8:29 pm

  23. On one side you might look for direct evidence in the media but you might also ask why as a country we have between 850 – 900 males per 1000 women.

We’re missing a lot of men.
