Error of Judgement.

Tue 17th July 2007:

I know little of the Vince Siemer case, but went to the High Court out of curiosity and the possibility that something was not right. If this case is indicative of the operation of our High Court we have a serious problem. The deliberate obstruction of self representation is an oppression of our freedom. In […]

KiwiSaver

Wed 6th June 2007:

KiwiSaver Is KiwiSaver good for young men? That’s what their website says. In short I see many young men being bitterly disappointed down the line after separation when the ex and her lawyer through the assessment of future child support lay claim to KiwiSaver funds. Many are going to find it is not a retirement […]

Disappearance of Paul’s News

Thu 24th May 2007:

Earlier this month Darryl Ward posted an article referring to the rebirth of Paul’s News e-mail list, which had recently disappeared. Paul’s News Logo For many years, MENZ has referred NZ fathers to this e-mail group if they live in areas where there are no support groups available. I believe it to was by far […]

Domestic Violence.

Fri 15th December 2006:

[email protected] I am looking at a recent copy of the Kapiti Observor highlighting letters to the Editor on domestic violence. Three of the four authors of these letters are well known amongst men’s groups, of which I am sure you are aware. It is a small orchestrated effort to make a point and obviously one […]

Jim Bagnall – Family Court should follow Australia

Thu 26th October 2006:

On Newstalk 1ZB: Children’s best interests should be central Great to see a positive message getting reported straight, I hope the reporter’s job is safe. A pity they didn’t get the Father’s Coalition name correct! “…it is time to stop picking sides in custody battles and find what is best for the child.” His comments […]

FROM THE CRADLE TO THE JAIL

Fri 6th October 2006:

British psychiatrist Theodore Dalrymple is in New Zealand in October to speak to concerned groups and leaders about how policy decisions contribute to our country’s appalling crime rate. He has seen the growth of a dispirited, crime-ridden underclass in Britain and believes NZ is following a similar downward path, as a result of policies that […]

NZ Family Court 25th Anniversary Protest

Members of the Republican Party, with the assistance of Santa, Spiderman and a wizard who looked remarkably similar to Jim Bailey layed a commemorative wreath outside the Auckland Family Court in Albert St today. As I arrived, Court security staff were telling the protesters to move off the front steps.

On Our Knees Down Under.

Sun 1st October 2006:

The politics of our country is very much a men’s issue, as the political changes over recent years have impacted negatively, not only on the individual male, but also on the structure and direction of our society. Politically we are on our knees, and rather than presenting the image of descending into banana republicanism, we […]

Family Court changes trial

Fri 15th September 2006:

The Family Court’s principal judge has announced a shake-up of the court’s processes in a bid to speed up cases and prevent a “slagging match” between parents. The changes, part of a two-year trial, include reducing the period between hearings, removing unnecessary evidence in hearings and making strong final decisions — irrespective of whether there […]

Bradford : No back down on Section 59!

Wed 13th September 2006:

Many people still regard this as the smacking debate. What does the repeal of Section 59 really mean. Firstly there is a conflict between section 59 of the Crimes Act, and The Care of Children Bill. You try and lodge a custody application based on discipline issues in the family court and they will simply […]

Whats Dunne is Done.

Thu 7th September 2006:

The good intentions of United Futures attack on Mr Boshier will be their undoing. What deputy leader Judy Turner has done (and I fully support her) is represent United Futures position. Peter Dunne as […]

Is United Future Falling from Grace.

There was a gasp for the political life of United Future as its deputy Leader Judy Turner took up the challenge of providing leadership and direction to the floundering party. Today’s attack on Mr Boshier would normally be politically unacceptable, but commonsense has prevailed. The family court has lost credibility, and can no longer stand […]

IRD makes its own rules.

Thu 31st August 2006:

In an attempt to reduce the escalating child support arrears figure the IRD has resorted to making up its own rules. Don’t be surprised if you find the IRD behaving in an illegal manner. Either someone in Government has said forget the rules, just get the money, or there is a vigilantly group operating within […]
