Texas man fakes kidnapping

Filed under: General — Downunder @ 6:36 pm

Story Here

A man in Texas apparently wanted to party with his friends so badly he staged his own kidnapping so his wife wouldn’t give him a hard time about leaving the house. Now he faces criminal charges and, likely, an even angrier wife.

Oh dear…

Andaverde was charged with making a false report to police. He was released on $5,000 bail.

No word yet on what kind of punishment was waiting for him at home. But it’s highly likely his wife was not a happy camper.

Temporary accommodation for violent men

Filed under: Domestic Violence — JohnPotter @ 9:46 am

Philip Chapman is the director of the Male Room in Nelson, which provides temporary, single-night accomodation for men who have been removed from their homes under five-day police safety orders. Sergeant John Maxwell is the Family Violence Intervention co-ordinator for the Nelson Police.

Interviewed today on Nine To Noon, Tuesday 8 October 2013

NZ men far more likely to die of preventable causes than women.

The latest mortality data highlights the difference in mortality rates between the sexes, with 461.9 deaths per 100,000 males compare to 330.2 deaths per 100,000 females.

Men are up to twice as likely to die from preventable illnesses like heart disease and diabetes. Men are three times as likely to die in a car crash and more than twice as likely to kill themselves.

Heart Foundation medical director Professor Norman Sharpe said it is a gap that will continue to widen as a “new wave” of health problems caused by obesity start showing up in the statistics.

The Feminist-Male medal

Filed under: General — Downunder @ 5:42 pm

Look-out, look-out, another Feminist-Male looking for a medal.

As far as I can see no-one has invented a Feminist-Male medal yet.

I think they should be viewed as the pirates of society.

I nominate the first candidate as Peter Dunne.

If you have a candidate for the Feminist-Male medal nominate them in a comment below.

Under-reporting of female crime

Filed under: General — Downunder @ 11:25 am

This case has same flavour as the recent $100,000 Women’s Refuge theft case. I asked the question then how often these situations had been processed through the Axminster system (swept under the carpet) rather than the court system. (more…)

The Slogans of the White Ribbon Campaign

Filed under: Domestic Violence,Gender Politics,General,White Ribbon Campaign — Ministry of Men's Affairs @ 10:36 am

White Fibbin’ supporters often defend their campaign by asserting they have a right to focus on the particular issue of protecting women from male violence, and if other people wish to focus on other forms of violence they are welcome to do so. Another justification offered is that it is a campaign started by men themselves and therefore must be ok.

Another reason to avoid women

We don’t see many Family Court cases reported on – every male needs to read this one. There are some hard lessons for the boys here within the realm of no fault divorce.

Black Ribbon Ties Up Tauranga

1 Tauranga Black Ribbon 051013
The Ministry of Menz Affairs Black Ribbon Campaign today in Red Square, Tauranga received a surprising amount of positive encouragement and support from Saturday shoppers and cruising teenagers. Busking added to the event stimulating interest and goodwill and included nursery rhymes for families who stopped on their way past. A number of people spoken to were surprised that there wasn’t a Ministry of Men’s Affairs. Fathers, mothers, grandparents, adults and youth recognized that men are not treated well in Aoteroa today. Some were shocked to learn that the Ministry of Women’s Affairs had already been given over $100 million of our hard-earned taxes while $0 had been provided for men’s issues. The 30-point flyer prompted much supportive comment. A surprising number of women especially were on ‘our’ side. Concern about the welfare of boys was evident. The Ministry of Menz Affairs thanks Tauranga for its support and we’ll see you in the main street of Manurewa next Saturday. For further information phone us at (09)4247762 or (0274)799745

Some history on feminism

The realisation of female violence

Filed under: General — Downunder @ 10:52 am

The frequency and brutality of female offending is definitely on the rise. Men are increasingly in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation. What is the next generation going to look like with an increasing number of children suffering the consequences of universal suffrage. (more…)

The Fox Wants to Look After the Chickens

Filed under: Domestic Violence,Gender Politics,General,White Ribbon Campaign — Ministry of Men's Affairs @ 11:19 am

We must remember that only men commit violence and only women experience it, at least to any extent worth acknowledging or worrying about. That’s why our government through several of its departments funds the anti-male hate-speech White Fibbin’ Campaign.

On Tuesday we heard feminst Radio NZ (paid for by taxes from both men and women) give a platform to Nicola Woodward, Chief Executive of Women’s Refuge in Christchurch to talk about domestic violence in gender-specific terms as though men are the only perpetrators and women and children the only victims. Only Men Commit Violence of Course

Filed under: Gender Politics,Law & Courts,White Ribbon Campaign — Ministry of Men's Affairs @ 11:10 am

October Protests

Representatives of the Ministry of Men’s Affairs (a community group because successive governments have failed to respect the voice and welfare of men) will be present at protests each Saturday in October to coincide with the male-denigrating White Ribbon Campaign. The protests will will encourage people to wear a black ribbon instead to show they oppose violence against women, men and chidren regardless of who commits it. Other men’s issues will also be aired at the protests, e.g. the lack of any government commitment towards men’s welfare while the Ministry of Women’s Affairs has already cost the country well over $100 million, and the scandalous refusal to address male suicide and to provide male-tailored interventions in relation to our suicide problem that kills more men than road accidents do and almost four times as many men as women. Please join us for a while, sing a song with us or at least come by for a quick visit and some moral support if you can.

The schedule is as follows:

Saturday 5th October, 11am to 2pm: TAURANGA, close to the Red Square (the exact position depending on wind, weather and welcome).

Saturday 12th October, 11am to 2pm: MANUREWA shopping centre, Gt South Road, near the police station.

Saturday 19th October, 10am to 2pm: HAMILTON, including the Frankton Market in the morning, and the town square (opposite the casino) from about lunchtime.

Saturday 26th October, 11am to 2pm: AUCKLAND, outside St Kevin’s Arcade, Karangahape Road.

We hope to see a few friendly faces!

“New” Expert Advisory Group on Family Violence Announced

Filed under: Domestic Violence,Gender Politics,General — Ministry of Men's Affairs @ 7:14 pm

From the office of Hon Turiana Turia, Associate Minister for Social Development. I think though I’m not certain that several of those appointed were instrumental in trying to wreck the Glenn project, perhaps dredging up the unsupported historical allegation against Owen Glenn. I don’t think this ‘new expert advisory group’ includes any expertise on violence by women or towards men but there may be some prime man haters on it. How surprising. (more…)

Men can relate to and care for children

Filed under: Domestic Violence,Gender Politics,Law & Courts,Sex Abuse / CYF — MurrayBacon @ 10:56 am

Although NZ familycaught$ judges seem unaware that men can relate to and care for children and can successfully take care of children, newspaper records regularly show a more realistic picture.

Sometimes, I wonder if judges don’t read newspapers or listen to stories about families in NZ?

Where is the deterrent for female offending?

Filed under: General — Downunder @ 10:39 am

We can’t say that women have never been criminals. I recall as a child the local Postmistress being jailed for “borrowing’ money in an elaborate fraud that eventually became too big to conceal. Certainly there is a frequency and variety of offending that we now see in the media, that we didn’t see before. (more…)
